KOKON
Well Xenonauts is using cold war environment. It should add strictness to the game. But. My first impression of playing alpha (8.9) is it feels too much arcady. In xcom i had a feeling like i'm solving real problems due to it's brutal graphics, pictograms, geoscape, graphs in ufopedia. Smth like i'm using adult instruments solving this real problems. I would like to see earth orbit trajectories on the map Smth like submarine command post map of glass I don't speak exactly about this things but smth in this style. No arcade fight during aircombat with player deciding when to fire each rocket Azimuthal geek projection for radiosignals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Usgs_map_azimuthal_equidistant.PNG I would like to see no arcade at all but serious brutal instruments. When you dealing with ufos you should feel like command post operator. "WTF is on the screen sir? I've never seen such a big object" In xenonauts it is not right yet Edited January 26, 2012 by KOKON
Chris
The geoscape is going to get a graphical upgrade before release. However, I don't think the game you describe would be very fun. Why shouldn't you control your aircraft if you can control your men on the battlefield? Ultimately this is a game about combat rather than assembling the correct array of forces beforehand and then throwing them at the enemy.
