Straker
Sometimes when a UFO appears my report tells me that its altitude is grounded but the speed is 2300 kph! I would think grounded UFOs should not be moving (like in X-Com). Otherwise it would plowing a furrow across the land at super-sonic speeds. Chris
Yeah, the speed column is pretty irrelevent really as UFOs don't have variable speeds at the moment. They just fly at full speed everywhere....maybe that could do with some work.
Straker
Thanks.
killerhellhound
i think if the ufo was going at 2300km an hour at ground level more people would notice it when it rams through a city or your house or you
Straker
Not to mention the sonic boom breaking all of the windows. It would look cool going across water.
Sathra
It'd look cool doing anything. Including flying through a mountain. And failing. Anything moving 2300kph close to the ground is awesome.
Gorlom
Anything moving 2300kph close to the ground is awesome. I take that as a challange to find something that isnt! Poop, pedophiles (pedophiles should never be considered awesome. possibly the event that maims them could be but never the pedophiles.) and terrorists comes to mind. Also car keys... it's going to be very annoying finding them afterwards... Edited January 4, 2012 by Gorlom
Sathra
Still awesome though. Mostly when they stop. Instantly. After hitting something.
Straker
Even the poop would be cool (as long as it doesn't hit the fan! ). Flying that fast over the ground could have ramifications (people would naturally blame the cold war adversary of choice).
Gorlom
Hmm ok then, what about delivery/dispersal units for A/B/C weaponry then? that is NOT awesome to have flying at 2300kph within viewing distance.
Sathra
Dunno, a rocket screaming along at head height with a payload of kids toys and wooden blocks would be pretty awesome to me.
Gorlom
Ah. By abc I meant Atomic, Biological and Chemical. sorry thought that was an established phrase.
Sathra
Heh, its usually NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical). And I think we've derailed this bug report enough .
Straker
Dunno, a rocket screaming along at head height with a payload of kids toys and wooden blocks would be pretty awesome to me. Reminds me of the Berlin Airlift in 1948 (and no, I'm not THAT old ). ABC or NBC (or some other) is probably a matter of national preference. One of my sons is on a NRBC decon team (Nuclear, Radiological, Bio, Chemical). I always thought the N and R were basically the same thing.
