Kreny
hey, maybe this has been discussed but reserved time should not be kept when player wants to shoot from gun. Most likely there is allien and thus it has no sense to reserve time wheb there is chabge of kill in own turn
Gorlom
that is a preference not everybody shares. the player might want to save a shot for reaction if multiple soldiers can see and shoot at the same alien.
Gauddlike
If you are taking long range shots at a hard to hit enemy you may still want to reserve your AP for reaction fire. If you decide you don't want to then you can always turn your reserve off and then fire.
Kreny
ok, agree on that. In that case, it would be good if we will have possibility to set / turn off reserver time in global for all our units? If there would be some button, next to time reservation which will enable/disable global setting of reserved time, it would be great! Gauddlike
Why would you want to turn it off for everyone at the same time? I can understand needing to do that for the soldier you are currently controlling, maybe even two or three if they desperately need to kill something before the end of the turn. A modifier key so that you temporarily ignore your AP reserve might be nice. For example if you get into a bad situation hold alt as you fire and it won't try to save your AP or something similar. You generally have as long as you want to make your decisions in a TBS game though so clicking on the AP reserve slider isn't going to cost you a valuable half second and get you killed as it might in an RTS or FPS. And set the same reserve time for all would be nice as well. e.g. ALT+click on reserve time button will set it for all soldiers. And ALT+fire gun/walk will ignore settings for selected unit. I was thinking about ALT/CTRL at first place but thought it would add complexity for players when they will have to press new key...
Gauddlike
At least the rules would be consistent. If AP reserve only works in some situations or for some actions then that would be more confusing than an override key.
Gazz
There is something that Xeno could pick up from "that other game", too. A different coloration for the movement allowance. Green tiles: you can move up to here and do reaction fire with your current weapon. Turning or stance changes will not affect that. Yellow tiles: you can move beyond the green tiles but no reaction fire for you.

Gauddlike
Plus doesn't it work that way now?
Thann
Perhaps there could be an option to reserve x time units in addition to the time units for firing weapons. Then you can for example reserve 4 time units if you want to kneel or you could reserve a few time units for turning around (depending on how much you want to turn). This time unit reservation should have an on/off check box, so that you don't have to change the value to 0 every time you don't want to reserve the time units in one turn. Sneakingviper
The reaction fire seems only to activate when your xenonauts are being fired at, I have seen several aliens running right past them without them firing at them. Could be my xenonauts needs glasses though
