UFO health in aircraft.xml does not work properly?

just have noticed the bomber UFO which I set health to 2500 withstands about double damage - tested a few times... how can this happen? The "armor" parameter is 0.

I'm almost sure this does not always occur, have to test it though. Haven't seen similar glitches for other ships, maybe not 100% sure about the strike cruiser...

I think if the UFO has already spawned on the geoscape then it will have whatever stats it originally had rather than the modded ones. That might explain it.

(Certainly, I've modded UFO HP values before no trouble so unless something has broken since then it should be working fine.)

I can confirm this. This is also true for any crew in a spawned ufo - you can't change the crew compliment in already-spawned ufos.

I'm aware about this, but it's not the case. I haven't touched bomber HP for more than a week. Then I see this double-hp ship. Then I reload a savegame just before the wave until I see a bomber spawned - and it goes with proper hp.

looks like a rare glitch, seems I can't reproduce it
