Slimy
First post! So, I've been modding the music files of Xenonauts quite a bit, . So I decided to make my own Deus Ex - Human Revolution Music Mod and post it here!https://www.dropbox.com/s/hqjmmmal4dq8bij/Xenonauts%20-%20Deus%20Ex%20-%20Human%20Revolution%20Music%20Mod.zip?dl=0 Air Combat 1 - Geoscape 1 - Geoscape 2 - Geoscape 3 - Geoscape 4 - Geoscape 5 - Geoscape 6 - Geoscape 7 - Geoscape 8 - Geoscape 9 - Geoscape 10 - Ground Combat Day 1 - Ground Combat Day 2 - Ground Combat Day 3 - Ground Combat Day 4 - Ground Combat Day 5 - Ground Combat Day 6 - Main Menu - (I didn't replace the night combat files because nothing really seemed to match the super creepy mood that a night mission entails.) I made this as a replacement for the original music, but personally, I like to combine it with the original music, this X-Com music mod, and Gifty's Music Addon. If you want to add these without replacing the originals, or add your own, you'll have to rename them, and add their names to the sounds.xml, and sounds_gc.xml files. If you want to add more Air Combat songs, you'll have to change "repeattime="0" to "repeattime="0-1" above "Wave>audio/music/Air Combat 1.ogg</Wave>" in the sounds.xml file. (I think.) Solver
Thanks for the video link! Amazingly fitting - then again, DX:HR is one of my all-time favourite soundtracks, and makes almost anything better. I think Everybody Lies should be cut into two parts. The first is for Geoscape, the second for ground combat. As for night combat missions, a few tracks do have a distinct vibe that fits there, in my opinion: Detroit Marketplace, Singapore Lab Ambient (which you have for Geoscape instead), Sarif Plant Interior, and Cargo (from Missing Link). I don't see why combat music necessarily has to be very fast. Yes, that's off the top of my head - yes, I nerd out over DX a lot.
Reactorcore
Funny thing is that before this mod came out, I had already heard elements within the Xenonauts own original music score have some parts that strongly remind me of DX:HR, specifically one of the ground combat songs. Now I see this come out and think "lol what a coincidence". I wonder, can the modular mod system work in adding these songs in without replacing the originals? Slimy
Thanks for the video link! Amazingly fitting - then again, DX:HR is one of my all-time favourite soundtracks, and makes almost anything better. I think it's fitting because McCann is the same guy who made the X-Com Enemy Unknown soundtrack. The styles are somewhat similar, though X-Com Enemy Unknown seems much more bombastic. I think Everybody Lies should be cut into two parts. The first is for Geoscape, the second for ground combat. Thanks! You're completely correct. I've updated the first post to include that. As for night combat missions, a few tracks do have a distinct vibe that fits there, in my opinion: Detroit Marketplace, Singapore Lab Ambient (which you have for Geoscape instead), Sarif Plant Interior, and Cargo (from Missing Link). Doesn't quite fit the mood of the original, but this is a Deus Ex: Human Revolution music mod, so I really ought to use Deus Ex: Human Revolution music in it. Silly me. I'll get to that next update. I don't see why combat music necessarily has to be very fast. It doesn't really, but I generally thought the non-fast tracks would fit the geoscape better. I wonder, can the modular mod system work in adding these songs in without replacing the originals? Yep! Just rename the .ogg files to something not already used by the game (for example, rename Geoscape 1-9 to Geoscape 4-12) and edit the sounds.xml, and sounds_gc.xml files to include the extra tracks. (If I'm wrong please correct me.) I could make a second version of this that does that if you'd like.
