  1. Thanks! But it gives a dead link: Sometimes subscribing does not work (at least it didn't for me on a linux system). In case it does not, the mod is also available at: http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=141 Do you perhaps happen to have the files?
  2. Hello! I have a distinct memory that i had soviet weapons on my gameplay back then... damn how the time flies... but now all the searches i can do lead me to the same dead files for ancient version no longer in use. Is there any simple way to get soviet weapons now? Not necesserily even adding them properly, just replacing sprites would be alright with me
  3. Hey guys! I can wait patiently for years, no, really, what's the worst that can happen? We don't get xenonauts 2? That's same as now, so no biggie. but! Please do something more than "Please visit the Xenonauts 2 steam community here (https://steamcommunity.com/app/538030/allnews/) to read our most recent development updates." at your own site with your own news category. If i wanted to follow you at steam, i'd go make a steam account. Fuck steam. Go x2.
  4. I'm just trying to understand if i should play it again. I mean, i didn't have any troubles with bugs to begin with. What QoL improvements were there? Were there any balancing patches? Such as, say, nerfing shields?
  5. So, i've beaten the game quite a time ago and thught it's the end, but now i see many many patches were out since then. Did anything important change?
  6. It's not just you, i prefer cold war era to imaginary 90s too.
  7. Yeah but it would leave my second base undefended in case some base attack mission gets through. Also, i wouldn't be able to send veterans at battleships and rookies at scouts at the same time, and having to reful the dropship might have led me into night missions.
  8. I did it after building shrike, to avoid decomissioning my trusty chinook. Also, B team became the place to dumb outdated tech, point them at small crash sites and watch the hilarity of unarmored people running into enemies. Some of them even survived more than one battle, thus becoming the candidate to replace people in A team.
  9. >Not good enough against shotgunner Sebillian. Two shots - two kills. I never said you're going to have zero casualties. Sacrifices need to be made. Xenonauts are expendable.
  10. Get some people with lmgs in front of the door, get somebody to approach it from side and open it, mow everything inside down, close the door. Repeat. Then move some shotgunners in and finish some hiding aliens off. Also, shields work, and too well for my liking.
  11. According to http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-030530.htm , many games are at least running on that thing. Xenonauts should too. Try drivers. Also, uninstall all antiviruses because they are evil, disable firewalls and shit.
  12. Well, i couldn't split the team up, after the praetor was killed i only had 4 men left. I mean, sure i was moving agressively instead of taking cover all day every day and maybe using shields with spotters, but time limit is a time limit. I only had like 2 turns after praetor was killed until reapers started spawning.
  13. Sometimes it stops working for my on my windows xp 32bit, says something about direct3d and inability to create graphics, and a simple reset would fix that. However, if that doesn't work at all, install some other drivers indeed. Also, some old beta from 1.5 years ago doesn't launch for me at all with the same error, while 1.07 works fine, make sure you aren't trying to run some version of the game you downloaded months ago.
  14. Well, singularity cannon wasn't that much of help. But yeah, i used it to blow up their heavy drone and then a praetor. In the face! Then reapers ate all my guys. No idea how you manage to never see them, they appear after some 6 turns on so.
  15. Won just yesterday. Even got one man alive from the final mission (they didn't get to blowing up things for escape pods and got eaten by reapers, but magic of "getting into low negative hp" saved the day). http://i.imgur.com/CjGeLxQ.jpg I must say, game got really boring once you could just arm everybody with predator armor and magstorm.
  16. I stopped worrying about the artifact recovery long ago. Huge blasts are way better than some lousy alenium.
  17. I find the whole idea of giving names to planes weird. It's MiG-32 (even while this is pretty incorrect itself, it's the plane's name ingame, so use it, why not).
  18. well, what really didn't make sense to me is that you had to use one core to build a gun, but then the ammunition was free. What's up with this? Does it go into gun itself? With all it's power? Probably not. So it's consumed by ammunition, it's just not limited because there's so many of it. So, why can't i build another gun to use with that ammo? Also, my guy with just around 84 TUs was able to move a bit and fire, and reloading took a bit less then 60 tus, but yeah, that's not the most useful weapon ever.
  19. >Reloading takes a set amount of them rather than a percentage. Oooooooooh. I seeeeeeeeeeee.
  20. Is this intended or it's the bug? I mean, it leaves you some TUs to fire it, but then you can never reload the gun. That's weird. But if this is what it is, i'll deal with it. If not, i'll mod the weight.
  21. I remember Chris saying something about xenonauts having T-72 at some point and then dropping the idea because of balance. Also, the thing on the top looks like tank, the think on the bottom looks more like BMP. That's weird.
  22. Now, if only you used your experience on creating another x-com game and not some random squad-based tactics... Aquanauts sounds like a good title... It's just that while Xenonauts are good they still don't surpass the original game in all parts (in some parts it did, for example, i liked xenonauts setting better, cold war is better than random fictional 90s, air combat is much better, etc.). So the game that would be better than it would set new standarts of quality for many many years to come.
  23. Aliens have no morale? Oh. That's a shame. I thought they did, and suppression was more effective after the previous one because morale didn't renegerate back, etc. Really a shame.
  24. Shoot down UFOs as fast as possible, clear or airstrike them. Get MiGs as fast as possible for that. Also, don't spend money on things that aren't necessary. UPD: Oh wait, XNT? Well, you should really try vanilla game first.
  25. Well if we want to be really specific, it's on the storage device xenonauts were installed to but can be easily accessed through file manager most OSes have preinstalled.
