Yeah, the scout-light scout to corvette-landingship/small alien base jump is kinda severe if you're on ironman, or first time player, or just unlucky. The routine for me during the light scout-scout phase was pretty simple stuff, got kinda monotonous. Use shields, scout until you find someone, spam kill them, repeat. Once you get to the UFO you just flashbang with a shield a few times then either use explosives or guns. This really is my routine for all missions early-mid game but with the lack of enemy variety and enemy population during that time it gets boring fast for scout missions. ^ -
IMO it would be better if they did a ton of damage, and if they got a killing blow it would zombify. Being able to insta zombify my combat shielded guys or predator armored guys at the start of the mission out of nowhere is just annoying.

No... Leaders. Not only Praetors. Leaders. Red shouldpad Ceasans, spiky hat sebillians, etc. The guys you find at the end of carriers.

Yeah recruit stats are randomized 35-65 as said, but considering there is multiple claims of dupes it's probably some weird rng bug, rather than you guys just getting some kind of 1 in a million dealio. -
It only works with leader rank or higher, and probably anytime? not sure. As for the stun grenade stuff, dunno, probably not though considering I don't think smoke 'kills' are tracked, would require some coding.

Yeah, they're random. In v21 stable anyways. -
Crete or Cyprus. Second base is usually in around Miami, third base usually around Papa New Guinea (had to google the name of that island, haha.)

What are the stats for MAG weapons?? I got them but I just assume they are better than plasma and playing on veteran I don't see damage indicators so I'm clueless.

Most likely they will, and you'll have to do annoying metagame reacharounds like waste all AP by doing squatthrusts or spinning in circles, or stowing weapons in backpacks each turn (and wasting 12 ap equipping them again) to ensure they either have no weapon to attack with or no AP to attack with. I think this game is going to be delayed until this is fixed, atleast, I hope it would. I haven't even reached the endgame and it's still ruined the game, I can't imagine what the heck the final mission is like. -

You make a fine point, and I agree that the system you said would be good. I just hate that it's so ridiculously annoying and detracting from the game at the moment, in a stable build. -

When a grenade is inaccurate I think it should travel atleast like two tiles barring an obstacle, but most misses with grenades result in the soldier just dropping it a tile away. I think grenades are kinda balanced not out of realism but out of lack of any other small radius explosion device. -

Pretty much this. Also, psi is not squad sight based, it's universal in my experience, as soon as the aliens spot you you're going to be getting random shit like that all day erryday, even if you kill all the aliens in sight. As for what chris said, I wouldn't mind if LOS was universal if mind-control wasn't so ridiculously OP by having no counter. It's insane that the only counter is player meta bullshit like wasting all TU's or putting weapons in your backpack. And they're about to RELEASE this game!? The game is great and balanced in all ways except this. EDIT: woops doublepost didn't realize this forum lacks automerge. -

Just got my first cruiser mission. Ugh. So there is literally nothing you can do lategame about mind control? Idiotic. I guess I'll have to stow my weapons and have no reaction fire every turn. -

Yeah so guessing this breaks v21 stable saves? Jussayin because there is some dang useful fixes and stuff in there. Particularly MAG weapons. Is there a fix just for that that I can do myself? -

Yes, I'm playing on veteran. I couldn't tell the difference between a miss and a hit, and I have never played on normal before. It was the soldier rank Andron, I think; atleast according to lore+. When no noise is produced it just seems like a miss to me, since I've never played on anything but veteran I guess it's impossible to tell the difference if the bullet is scattered on the same tile (pointblank) either way. So basically, yeah I think it is the androns having high armor values and stuff like laser pistols not doing enough, but it was impossible for me to tell between miss/resist on veteran. Thanks; maybe add a 'deflected' noise as you said. -
Do the maps have set amount of enemies? I seem to be getting crazy amounts of enemies.
