  7. We are the pre-release beta testers. Your definition of beta is fully covered by the stable branch. It's impossible to get experimental builds by an accident, and it's not like experimental is some secret branch with features stable users doesnt have...well, actually it is, but it's also a risks of crashing, losing of your saves and lots of bugs. Testing process is much faster this way. Release, as a consequence, is closer. Searching for some bugs doesn't seem to be a big price for that.

  10. Yeah, that actually should be about sebillians, because there can be only 2-4 ceasans in a small scout, as far as i know.   12. Tested on 4:3 1280x1024. You have to put mouse cursor a whole lot lower to choose a soldier or switch between chinook-1/unassigned soldiers. Might be related to the fact that you obtain 1280x1024 by stretching 1280x800. It hurts to see longfaced people. They are already gloomy enough. What did they do to deserve this? Is this some alien secret weaponry? But seriously, guys, can it be fixed, please?
  13. Radar range indicator movement when placing the new base.... it's majestic. So fluent and probably very simple in terms of code. Still no fix for 4:3 screens though. That's sad.

  15. Why not? You already have a randomised assault mechanism which makes single premade chokepoint useless. Or the player will need to carefully plan the base with several chokepoints, sacrificing vital room space for potential defendability and oh wait just like the people do in real life. I think it's viable choice and good idea in general.
  16. Hmm, i think it is possible to add new alien types, at least zz once did that with xenomorphs. You can meddle with the UFO content, adding those new types to the battlescape. You can add tiles and maps. Reapers have special claw weapon, but i'm afraid reproduction and zombifying are in code. I'd say total conversion is possible, but a) It can be that some crucial to conversion things are hardcoded. I don't sure the game has been tested in this scope. b) 3d modelling, animation and rendering is the only sane way to get required quantity of sprites.
  17. If it will be so, and Jsleezy will manage to remake all portraits, he deserves a bunch of monies and a grand cookie speciale with double chocolate and almonds. Because this will be a hell of a work.
  18. the game is this far already. Can't say a bad word about Jsleezy work, it's awesome, detailed and anatomically correct. But i can't say a bad word about xenonauts portrait artist either. As the Gorlom said, portraits are important part of unique game style and current ones are of better fit. I like this style. I don't know how much of a demand are original portraits, but i suspect a big numbers. And i fail to understand why didn't you just use Jsleezy awesome mod (which allows anybody to choose between his portraits and original ones), but demand something from the developers. The only reason that i could find is that you are one of those kickstarter people and you aren't satisfied with your portrait.
