    X-Com EU LP

When it comes to LP, oddly enough, but old and seemingly overplayed X-Com capable of generating so much funny, tragic, ironic and epic moments that no modern railroad-game can even dream of. I'll remember my first jungle mission with mutons forever.
  2. It's slightly off topic, so i'll made my point and shut up. When you're playing alpha, you are more a tester than a player (Why would you otherwise play unfinished game, spoiling the experience?). Tester seeks crashes, not avoids them, therefore he always have backups and backups of backups. He never loses his progress, because his progress is in the game development. So don't be worry as a tester. This bug will (hopefully) be fixed, and your progress will not be lost. But try to hold on with your gamer demands at least 'till the official beta. Thank you.
  3. It is not beta. Trying to make the developers feel ashamed of the alpha game is not the best thing you can do, neither should you point at fear of losing your progress. But you could help, really, by providing useful information (and believe me, developers will hear you). Guidelines can be found here: link Even better, if you could make a little research by yourself and narrow the bughunting area. With all the respect to the friendly atmosphere of this forum and your desire to play crashless.
  4. The first one seems to be more appropriate. That distinct comissar's glance.. dripping marple syrup... i've yet to be able to convey this feeling.

    X-Com EU LP

Fraps is great, but I'd recommend trying a Camstudio first (if you haven't yet). It's free and easier to use.
  6. That URL shortening. Summarizes my attitude towards the topic.

    X-Com EU LP

    Wait a second, XCOM 2012? awwww =(
  9. Why, of course i don't mind. All Hail Pancakes!
  10. I laughed my power armor off. But this thread should have more silacoids!
  11. Sorry for pic-spaming, but today my random themegenerator ordered me to draw "hero" and "food". I couldnt resist.
  12. Relay-runner (Joe) Because i'm sure any xenonaut who survived at least three missions with the stunner role could easily win the olympic relay race. That is, if he didn't hit the next runner with the baton in the head swearing like sailor.
  13. Artists can be... a delicate people. Somebody could consider that as a DEFCON 1. But i'll try to get rid of the excessive politeness.
  14. Yes, the full name then should be a "Brofist of mankind' screwedness" I hope he will not be too mad about it.

What a lot of grenadiers. Well, i'll stick to conventional weaponry then. Incendiary, if possible. And a hand-tuned stun rod in my backpack. Never trust 'em fancy red flashlights. Will there be any teasers earlier than a month away?
  16. Today's daily draw exercise was about Xenonauts (sort of), so i guess i can put it here. Tried to get some catch phrase for it. Stuck on "Screwed." Bigger version Max_Caine: Super nice metal rendering, and excellent geometry. Didnt manage to find a flaw. ( I'd personally add some cracks and marble chips near the foot, to deal with this slightly levitating feel and add weight, but it may be out of style.
  17. There was a little misunderstanding, since this was intended as a means for those who already purchased cs2 to be able to use it further. (Adobe have shutted down the licension servers for CS2). http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2013/01/update-on-cs2-and-acrobat-7-activation-servers.html Anyway, i believe that nobody will be sued for this, so i'd suggest to go and grab a copy anyway. Beware though, as Photoshop can cause addiction and unhappines with the other graphic editors.
  18. Oh. My. Glob. Gotta go and grab my copy. The voices..well.. naaah i'ts not the most important part.
  19. I think there is too much work invested in a new UI to let the players decide to simply throw it out. Ever tried to build something under the constant pressure of advices? Result would be far from an ideal. Details, though, can and should be changed, because no one is immune to mistakes.
  20. Chris, of course the new UI is much, much better in detail and usability and everything. Great job! But if we'll give nothing but praises, aren't you gonna get spoiled? And who's gonna make our year then?
  21. Super cool night/day representation. I've just momentally imagined how this thing can be made with the projector and shadow casting. Nice overall look. It's exactly how can command center in the 60-70s would like, be it designed shortly with the mass funding. The mood is lightened certainly, not necessarily worse or better, it's just changed. The expectations of the project rised with the kickstarter funding, after all. i'd prefer a dark and gloomy themes, especially when it comes for the alien invasion, despair and terror. But it would need a solid backup in the gameplay, balance, and missions, such as nest tileset. So better it would be a wholesome brighter game than a half-baked dark one.
  22. I know, let's install some kind of trojan in Chris' computer so we can monitor his actions and be veeeeery cloooose to him. But seriously, there is a times when everything sucks, and bunch of a people in the forums are impatiently requesting some news. And you just cant go and tell them to shut up. Well i hope it's not that bad and Chris just forgot about us a little, because he is a busy man and he has a life and a Christmas is coming.. It's okay. Take your time. We will wait. We've waited for so long since the last good X-Com. We'll wait a little more. Right?
  23. Misanthrope pastry with the menacing headwear leading a group of crying sissies into the plasma storm from the UFO turret that survived crashlanding, and going out with not a green younglings but with a ̶d̶w̶ men. Well, at least with those who managed to stay alive and keep all their limbs needed to walk manly intact. Why not?
  24. Apple doesnt think so. I highly doubt that there is an institute or other human conglomeration with economical independency and morality high enough to develop and bring to life an adequate copyright management laws for the virtual content. It's not time yet. So now it depends on your principles most of the time. I can see the point in the DRM (obvious one), though there is a lot of people who despise it. There was a war around an infamous protection system in Russia called StarForce, which was a nightmare for the players as much as for the pirates. So there is a point in a piracy too, though it's not that obvious like "it is simple and cheap". As you can see in the history of the relations between Russia and Microsoft, they didnt lose billions on the piracy, they earn a huge consumer's market with the induced by the piracy widespread of their system. Today it's best to stick with your own opinion, just remember this: Some companies see you like a money cow and will suck you dry for exchange of another FarCrysis Forever. And some developers need every kopeika invested in their great games. You deal with the first as you wish, but if you trying to steal from the second... i'm gonna haunt your dreams.
