Just reinstalled Skyrim, still yet to start playing it again. Oblivion is where my heart is, if you have it, try the 'Nehrim' total conversion mod. New world, new story, it's almost a new game, and free. Pub was empty, drank two beers and back home again. Plenty of it here too.

Very much appreciated, Chris (and the rest of the team)! Been playing XCOM:EU for.. uh.. it's all so blurry.. 10 hours now or so, but Xenonauts (and the original) are still my favorites. Keep up the good work! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to pub!

What I think they were going for was to have a simpler, easier to keep track system for the money. Give player 300 and scale stuff to match.. they just forgot the scaling part... And I wouldn't mind the new money system if the gray market would be there to compensate for it, but really, 5§ per corpse? Gah, and you can't even sell all but 1 like you could in the original, so you can't really make good profit that way either. Hopefully they will balance it out a bit in future patches.

The cover system is a real mess at times. I've lost plenty of soldiers who were in spots that had no line of sight to the alien who still somehow managed to shoot and kill them (rounds clipped through the wall). Also, the money system is something I hate. You get roughly 300§ to start with, which is ok, I see what they did there. But they messed up when it comes to balancing different items and other stuff to the money levels in XCOM:EU. For example, 2 medkits cost you 50§, for almost the same money (60§) you can build a new power plant, or with the cost of 6 medkits you can build one of the most crucial buildings in the game: the satellite uplink (150§). They really should've kept the old money system of giving the player a few millions to start with. Other than that, i'm enjoying it. Won't reach up to the elite in my book, but maybe just above the rookie who gets sent to breach the UFO with a live grenade in his pocket.

I have no interest in debating with you about it.

TotalBiscuit's "WTF Is..."

I agree. I'm enjoying the game, but it does have it's issues.
-
Thanks for the heads up. Missed it, but thankfully twitch saves the videos.

First post, "Holidays & v15 / beta" thread. This is the announcements section, it might be a good idea to read the stuff Chris posts to keep up.
-
It doesn't.

ClosetYeti started a playthrough of XCOM:EU
-
No. They try to get v16 out ASAP, couple of weeks of bug stomping and then beta if all goes as planned.
-
I'd advice against it. No one knows what Steam's policy is on early unlocks. Some say they might ban the account, some say they do nothing.
-
I'm waiting for TotalBiscuit's review, I tend to agree with him usually.

Awesome! Thanks!

Soldiers not super imposed
Dowly replied to ShockPilot's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
This is a known bug. -
How about the UD-4L 'Cheyenne' from ALIENS for late-game? Granted, it's a dropship, but I don't see why it couldn't shoot down aerial threats as well.

What tech you need for that Jean-Luc?
-
It's a digital store, the games are stored on the account you make on their site. The games don't need any third-party program to run.

@dJm: You can buy the complete collection (or just UFO:EU) from Gamersgate.com too. That's where I got mine from.

Combat log in place of hidden movement

I agree. But Xenonauts is still in alpha phase as you know. -

I'm starting to think the other X-COM reimagining might be more suitable for you. -
Oh wow! Looks amazing!

What's your suggestion then on how to down UFOs?
