1. Could not see this reported elsewhere, which is a little surprising, but the radar detection rate is displaying as 100000% in my first base when I start a new game. I like the odds, but suspect they are misreported...
2. Absolutely, and some regions would not have any kind of organised armed force anyway.
3. I like that better than just bombing the area, but I would assume that local forces would surround the crashsite anyway to contain the situation until the xenonaughts arrive and charge in.
4. I really cannot see why the funding block would give xenonaughts money (or improved status) for blanket bombing a crashsite. Aside from the cost of replacement bombs and fuel, there are usually civilians in the area. I can just imagine the stink that would be kicked up if the UK government started bombing farms, villages, etc on their own turf. Damage control would more than wipe out any propaganda benefits. I can see what Chris is trying to do but, from a lore or realism perspective, I cannot see any logic to it.
5. Modern riot shields weigh just under 3kg while the big Roman scuta shields weighed up to 10kg. 20kg was way too heavy, I am glad it has been reduced, 3kg maybe a little light though.
6. I sent a fighter squadron to intercept a UFO that was on the edge of radar range. After a few minutes (game time) I launched a charlie so I could reach any crash site before night fell. Eventually the UFO flew out of radar range and the fighter squadron prompted for further instruction (I sent it to last known location). I received no prompt for the dropship and it carried on tracking the UFO and eventually encountered the UFO. Saved game: http://bajcreations.co.uk/2013-06-22_12.18.24.sav.zip
7. Chris, best to use a tool like grepwin (http://code.google.com/p/grepwin/downloads/list) for this kind of thing; I just normalised all the "run" files in 5 minutes. Let me know if you want to know what regular expressions I used.
8. Same here, new game, clean install (desura client not stand alone)
9. I also have broken saves when a ufo or crashsite is on the geoscape.
10. I have something almost identical happen on a desert map. - Hunter got damaged in the aliens turn - My machinegunner accidently finished the hunter off - Sniper shot one of the two aliens - Ended turn; CTD
11. Danxeno, my launcher shows v17. I haven't had a chance to play the game though, so cannot comment on crashes yet...
12. I liked how the Silent Storm games handled mods. You would copy the mods folder to the game folder (ie there was no overwriting of games files) and then select which mods to play with when you started a new game.
13. I had this problem with my old laptop that had an intergrated graphics chip, never did solve it. Now I'm on a new(er) laptop with a dedicated graphics card and the print screen works fine in full screen mode.
14. It must have been while the craft was refueling. I cannot swap the bottom most missile though because it disappears off the bottom of the screen, which I think is an known issue on some resolutions.
15. I thought Chris had added it back in, oh well...
16. I personally find this very annoying, but cannot remember how it used to work.
17. I also get this; full screen @ 1366x768. Neither clicking text or image work.
18. I think we have had this in previous builds: grounded UFOs (ones that have landed?) are represented by a red icon and have a velocity.
19. There is a bug in the number of available scientists and lab space after loading a game. To reproduce: 1) Start a new game 2) Start researching "Alien Invasion" 3) Quit to geoscape and save the game 4) Reload the game 5) Run time until the research is finished I ended up with 60 of 50 lab space available and 20 of 10 scientists! This happens with any research topic; just save the game while researching and reload...
20. Yep, the hunter's view range is determined by its armour. I guess the game thinks the hunter is sky clad (and nearsighted)!
21. I am not sure if it is a night mission (approx 06:10 on the eastern side of Africa) but the rest of my troops could see ok. I get 404 errors when I try to attach anything to a forum post so I have uploaded the save game file here: http://bajcreations.co.uk/xeno/2012-04-29_17.17.11.sav.zip
22. I get the same, although in my case it was only 2 squares (full demo) during a light scout mission.
23. Looking at the second problem. I saved the game immediately after the ground mission ended, this shows 2 wounded and none missing. Yet when I am back at base I find the situation described above. Both saves are attached.
