  1. I´d say that the civilians running towards the alien hoard is as much hostage situation you would ever need, on top of that they tend to stand in line of fire most of the time.

  5. It is a minor thing: had 17 soldiers in total, 12 on the Chinook; 4 was in training; 1 in hospital. Once the 4+1 got back it says Unassigned (4) but in the list of Unassigned there is 5 soldiers. Must be that they hire Sectoids in the hospital, not only do they probe you and take your weapons away, you are no longer accountable as a enlisted soldier.. On a related note, but I can't say it is a bug - would it not be a good idea to have the Chinook-n selected first instead of the Unassigned soldier? Always have to click Chinook the first thing you do, but maybe that is to prevent CTD if you scroll through the bases and any Chinook happens to be out on a mission? Pvt. DeMente
  6. If you place a base too close you will get a window for "London" and can choose to send interceptors, somthing like that (dl new version right now), but that is fine by me, it does not CTD. Anyway, it is not that many cities in the xenonauts world, I just have to avoid those few when I set a new waypoint, or always zoom out first that they are not visible.
  7. Had a little handshake and got to close to a city while trying to deploy a F-17, I can say that this is still something that can happen in V10.1.

  9. I've just added it to the workaround thread, since it is one of those things you just have to remember to do - or rather not to do. The eariler thread was [V9.4 - Geoscape] Freeze upon transfer of aircraft.
  10. Workaround for CTD with multiple transports in the air. Issue: The game CTD when one of your transports should land at a base, or you see a immobile transport at one start base. Workaround: Remember to only send one transport for everytime you are in Base management. If you like to send another transport, exit to Geoscape and let some time pass (see the C-17 start). Only thereafter can you continue with the loading of next transport.
  11. Failed to find the original report, so maybe that I repeat what has already been written. For me it happens when I alt+tab to windows, to read a bug report or something else. A base icon is restored when I choose "Go to base" at a message "[something] has been built at [base name]" PVT. DeMente

At least I could name a soldier "YHDEKSäNKYMMENTAä" and another one to "åLDERSKRäMPöR" so I rest assured that EBCDIC-278 is implemented , but since the game force Capital letter upon everything (that can be seen), I take this opportunity to ask for a difference between I and 1, kind of looks the same to me.
  14. I see Matthew's note it will be fixed in the next build, but just noted something that might be of interest. Did a Quick Battle, and got a heavily damaged soldier (with 5 in health). During the alien turn, they blew up the Hunter but the game played on, until they killed that guy and he got -20/5 in health, then the game froze. So could it be overkill, getting a negative number in the health counter that is one reason the game freezes? I've tried to find something about it, apologies if it was reported already. PVT. DeMente
  15. For me it was (in 9.31) the main game, have not tried the terror mission quick battle ever. Will try it to hear if it is the new drone's sound. Yes it was very much like the movement drone sound, but looping.
  16. Yes, that would be zzz and me having bad luck, just noted that I never verified that 'Trrrrrrrr' was kind of what I heard as well. But the AI winning the map sounds good, that is likely the root cause. Thanks!
  17. I can validate that the game can CTD under one condition. That you start more than one transport at the same time in the bases tab. As long as you go out to Geoscape, let some time pass and see your C-17 fly away, you can go into bases and start one more transport. So, just one C-17 in the air - works every time. More than one C-17 in the air - that works too, as long as you have not sent two at the same time, from any of your bases. I've done quite some testing yesterday and today, feeling bad, since I have forgot to report this already under v9.2, sorry! Additional info, might be useful for Matthew. (if you send two from the same base at the same time, the second will display an static "ghost" at the starting base. The ghost has the same designation as the last one example C-17 3. I have tried to send both to and from - to the same and different bases, it will CTD when the last transport arrives of the two or more you started at the same time, regardless if there is visible ghost or not. Good thing though, it has not yet crashed as long as I remember to start only one C-17 at a time. And finally, I believe the cargo is not relevant, I've sent planes, alien alloys, etc) PVT. DeMente
  18. Thanks Gauddlike, I have a minor dyslexia problem, so I should have written west. Or maybe all my issues could be related to that I play the game upside-down :-) Anyway, I cannot repeat this mess after a lot of re-loads, and it does not seem to be a problem for anyone else, so next time I'll report something that is more frequently occuring. /DeMente
  19. Once only I got an annoying sound-loop and the game froze at what should have been the end of combat. I have tried to find a previous tread and failed so I'll start a new one. If it is already out there please re-direct me or moderate this one. I have validated the files, then made the change so there are 0 civilians, but still had some friendlyAI in there. Cleared at least 15 ground missions with those settings before this problem occured. The one Sebillian was gunned down by a friendlyAI (which should have ended the mission), but I had the friendlyAI in sight. Next turn moved some troops and saw the dead alien, which by the way the friendlyAI was still firing upon, if it is of any help. Ended the turn, hidden movement and then the map was back, centered on the friendlyAI, playing a sound-loop, and I could do nothing (can't tell what sound it was, probably shotgun related, I had to kill the game, lest I'd go insane). So I removed the assets/levelsetup.xml (it should not be there anyway?), reloaded and got a successful ending. This time I pretty much sat on my buttocks, did not see the friendlyAI or the Sebillian, but heard the gun-shots, and the mission ended in proper manner, after the civ/friendly had killed the alien. (Put the levelsetup back in, but this time the friendlies spawned elsewhere, so I had to finish the alien off myself. Don't think it is related since I cleared a lot of missions before with the levelsetup active). Almost forgot, this was on Farm, normal difficulty, and fully downloaded files if that is of importance, and the friendly was facing 4 on the num-pad, that is east? Oh, and the only bad thing I have to say about this game is that it makes me throw away my work ethics (only change one thing at a time, to find the root cause), because I want to play it, and then play it even more!   20. If I click intercept and the map is zoomed in enough to show city names and the >< that marks the spot, I click that spot the game will CTD. This can happen anytime, first interception in a new game, or later on. If it matter, I use fully downloaded version since V9.1 and it happened in 9.1; 9.2 as well, I just now realized what I was doing wrong to provoke this to happen. I've repeated it some times now and it seems to happen only if the click is on the graph >< somewhere, not if I hit just close to it. Spent quite some hours playing the game, but also reading bug-reports, so forgive me if this already been reported and I just couldn't find it. PVT. DeMente
