Ive had similar issues from version 17 onwards. desura build. i have attempted a fresh desura install Tested 17, 17.5. Everysingle time on ground combat loads it crashes. Mine occurs without ironman (haven't tried with). Numerous games, almost always a scout.

The biggest issue i have is desura will no longer update the game. im still stuck on version 14.x. Yes i know there have been some issues with build numbers but im told they are resolved, i also have to manually start it and it never seems to update on its own.

got it, may play multiplayer, the new game plus features make multiplayer a bit complicated.

Well delays around october 9th aren't gonna be that bad. we will have xcom unknown to play with for a few weeks, giving you guys a little less pressure. i completely agree with the alpha deluxe, peoples opinions need to change on betas. its a beta, if there are bugs they will get fixed. id love to get a customer soldier but $100 is way to steep for me. it wouldn't surprise me if they readded custom soldier names only, not portraits for a cheaper price. great way to make some $$ and get people interested in your game. i named a star system after my gf and she loved the game, hated it until i learned that trick

i used to hate steam with a passion, now its not so bad. problem is everyone else (desura, origin, GFWL, ubisoft) all think that having there own is a good idea too. civ 5 is good fun single imo the multi takes too long. warlock mota is also fun, quicker in mplayer. Tbo ima get both fireaxis and this. there different squad mechanics, and probably different geoscape mechanics. xeno is also very easy to mod from the looks of it.
