  1. There has been a game that merged really fine 2D graphics with 3D actors. It's been Temple of Elemental Evil.
  2. Changing armours_gc.xml works just up to a point. When disembarking from the helicopter I could never see the magazines on the right to the heli. With range=30 the game was laggy, but I couldn't see more then with setting range=20.
  3. UFO had also just stunt rods, range 0 weapon, for that purpose. You researched alien technology to be able to shoot stunt balls. In that game some attacked aliens were losing conscious before dying, so you could have first few soldiers without much hassle.
  4. How do you change the sight radius? I've tried config.xml, DefaultViewRange, but changing it from 10 crashes the game.
  5. Missle controlled by wire is not only a subject of Sci-Fi movies. It was used a lot in real life and still is - TOW. Accidentally it was developed in the '70. Not much man-portable thou. I'm not a fun of Blaster Luncher as it changed the hunting to boring blasting.
  6. I also would like to sight range to be increased several times. If a map isn't flat and barren that wouldn't be much of problem. Currently any shooting outside a building is within 1-turn running distance.
  7. I think it would be enough if the first few UFOs are the small size, and don't land in a city. I've learnt that way and it was fun.
  8. I have the same problem. I'm really glad it's a bug, not a design decision, unlike UFO:AI.
  9. For UFO I don't name the soldiers after myself, because I know that his chances of survival are slim (especially before I discover any type of armour). I do it for Jagged Alliance 2 thou, but there I know he'll be around.
