  2. Wait , the rigging person was last seen mocking about with jetpacks? Well that's you answer right there. Missiles home in on their target, plasma projectiles don't. Lasers get a free pass at being good AA weapons because they hit nearly instantly. How fast can a plasma bolt travel? Ehhh not sure if want Speaking of which, how can we just "upgrade" to lasers. Don't we need alenium to fire those things? The best next thing humanity has to power those things is a giant nuclear power plant. Does the base have a giant nuclear power plant? I have my doubts that the cost of constantly resupplying surface to air missiles is exactly the same as producing truckload of energy. Chris you are breaking mah immersion here mahn!

  4. He said "implemented", and i told him what is the most powerful alien weapon implemented...disclosed right now, not which is most powerful ever. How'd you get to captain a space ship with those reading skills mister i surrender? Not for soldiers, i don't play they demo until the end, but there are UI images for it as well as alien sprites using it, but no soldier sprites using it.
  5. One: The game says there is a fleet.(Looks at Targe) Two: Chris has stated once in an old post that the entire point of the final mission is to beat the impossible odds. The whole campaign is a race against time. The final UFO will be much tougher than the most powerful reverse engineered interceptor.You could bring one down , bout two or three at the same time would be literally impossible. So you can't "shoot down all the UFOs". You'll get overwhelmed if you take too long(or intercept alien activity too poorly).

  7. Am i the only one who thinks that the corvette is too small on the battle map? I mean, when i first time i saw the art for it it was very huge horizontally, but vertically(looking from the side) it was like a needle. I expected it to be at least as big as a carrier(one of the heavier ships), not complaining much but i can't shake the feeling it should have been made bigger .
  8. And i have a question. At this moment the project is getting around 2k per day. So by the time kickstarter finishes Goldhawk will raise 46k more money. 46k + 79,398 = around 125k. That is 15 k short of the soviet stretch goal. Will Gh skip the tilesets on to the next affordable goal(i.e. tileset specific allies- costs 25k instead of 40k tilesets ). Will they still try to make the soviet tilseset if all goes well during development, or:
  9. Or tie a metaphorical piece of buttered toast to the metaphorical cat. Metaphorically drop it from a metaphorical ladder, the spinning paradox will create a time vortex. Go to the future and download the finished game. Then go back in time to when Chris just starts to work on the project, and give Chris the finished game. So he can use the future preorders and future kickstarter funds to add even MORE features to the game...Metaphorically.

  13. Judging by the current sluggish kickstarter progress, we won't be seeing military base tiles .
  14. Didn't Chris also mention that the players choice of intercepting\ignoring aliens slows down\speeds up the ticker respectivly?
  15. @ls35a @Alex2213 Are you using migs/avalanche torpedoes? The avalanche will obliderate EVERYTHING smaller than a corvette in one shot if it hits, so don't use those on scouts. If you zoom in you can see stats next to planes/enemy ufos , it also includes its damage threshold so try sending only 2 missiles at a time to determine how much damage they do and try not to go above 120% of their threshold. For example if an enemy craft(let's say scout) takes 35% from a sidewinder , then 4 sidewinders will destroy it while 3 sidewinders will crash it assuming you are over land. Aircraft guns(auto cannons) will not overkill the target so they're always a safe bet if you want to finish the last (10% or so) health of a ufo. Like gorlom said fighters never spawn crash sites, so if you see a ufo named "fighter" don't expect a crash site from it. But if you do like i advised, but still don't get the crash(over land+not a fighter+not over killed beyond 120%) then report it to the bug forum.
