Skitso
Units FoW isn't spread symmetrically as seen in the picture below
kabill
I just spotted that the other thread you posted the picture in! Wasn't sure if it was another unit off screen or something though.
Gauddlike
Maybe it is where the 90 view angle is drawn from? If it is the centre of the ground tile then you would assume it would draw along the corners but if it is somewhere else then there would be some misalignment of the angles as the game doesn't draw partial tiles. At some point a tile would be on the wrong side of the threshold and be lit when one on the other side was still dark. Possibly the LOS is drawn from the point projectiles are supposed to emerge? It does look a little odd.
Skitso
Minor thing, but this is still in the game...
Chris
Yeah, we're unlikely to fix this. It's pretty minor tbh.
Skitso
Oh, so its that tough issue to fix. Too bad. Can't the FOW angle be reduced to like 89 degrees?
kabill
You can mod that really easily, so you could try it and see if it works.
Skitso
Can't get it to work for some reason...?
kabill
Are you changing the values in config.xml or armours_gc.xml? I think you need to use the latter (just in case this is the problem and it's not something else).
Skitso
Nope. Tried both and it just doesn't work. Hmm, the minimum of 90 decrees might be hard coded? Edited May 13, 2014 by Skitso
kabill
Out of wonder, did you try a large change to test it (say down to 60 degrees)? Just thinking that reducing the value down to 89 degrees might not be enough to solve the problem. (Sorry if you already did this, just wasn't sure is all). Skitso
I tried 80 degrees but should maybe try even smaller to be sure. I'm at the work so I can't test it right now though.
Caaygun
How about increasing it instead to say 120 deg? It is more realistic and the assymmetrical calculation system won't be as obvious probably.
kabill
Fair enough. I'd have thought that 80 degrees would have worked, at least to cure the issue you started the thread about.
