More soviet kit would definately be welcome.
Given the cold war theme, it would be nice to have an option that toggled "NATO/Warsaw Pact" for the weapons. It wouldn't even have to do more than just different names and graphic on the selection screen.
M16 - AK47
M60 - RPK
and so forth

This I can see. The Assault rifle is somewhat...lacking...in the accuracy department, which is just utterly confusing seeing as how you're arming your troops with the M16, a rifle that easily can reach out to a small target at 500 yards in the hands of a trained solder (which they should be...unless the commander's using the "bury em in bodies till they asphyxiate" tactic...).
What's a stack of pancakes doing holding the position of commissar? Hell if I know...

Having played World in Conflict, I would actually love to see a "Nordic fishing village" style tileset :P .What about the fjords then? Dont you want a fjord tileset??
a) More localized tilesets - For example Asian towns, Deep forest, Jungle, etc.
b) MOre geoscape feedback of the world - lots of "minor events" to investigate that you can choose to ignore with not much of an impact, but add a little something if completed (i know there are terror missions already, these would more to add to the feeling the world is at war).
c) More interaction between funding nations and xenonauts (on the monthly feedback each nation provide feedback on their feelings)
d) Underwater missions (i know, i know...)
nothing more realy, game already seems lots of fun.

And how about subway maps or including subway levels in main urban maps as underground levels ?
