Ragnarok
Not sure if game or developers are serious. Cruiser Airstrike 50k Cruiser Mission ~ 150k Alien Base Assault 73k After reload and retry, 90k (used 1 rocket above). Command room did hold 3 Androns, so i suppose i could not capture a commander in this base either. Doesnt seem risk/reward balanced AT ALL ! wtf ? steave
You get to do a cruiser mission because you succeeded twice, once shooting it down and once clearing it out. You got the base mission because you failed to stop the ship building it from completing its mission. Looks about right to me.
NeoTiger
Having an Alien Base on the map means you have failed to detect and intercept the UFO that built it. Why should you be rewarded for that?
ViniJones
Sides, the base upgrade is quite the prize.
Big Z
Having an Alien Base on the map means you have failed to detect and intercept the UFO that built it. Why should you be rewarded for that? But you are, very much so, just in an entirely different way. No paltry cash reward stands up to the sheer overwhelming benefit capturing a base in the early-mid game provides in terms of research and production values. crusherven
Just the once, though.
Ragnarok
A Moment, if you will. Crashed Cruiser: 150k if looted. INTACT Base: ~ 80 - 90k. THIS is what i mean. A base is like 10 times as big and should hold considerable more of value then a damage Cruiser.
vaultdweller
Isn't the cash reward mainly from the sale of alien weapons? That means that the cash basically comes down to the number of aliens present. You're not selling the craft or the base, you're selling the gear. If you encounter an alien base with more aliens present than a cruiser (there are multiple base sizes), then you'll get more reward from the base. Nibelung44
I'm playing a modded ironman game of mine, with these settings: Airstrike: Money standard mission: experience, alenium & alloys (almost no money except for selling alenium&alloys) base: Money This introduces some interesting choices constantly. I also upped usage of alenium and alloys, so each mission is either: 'do I want money and so I do airstrike*' or 'do I need alloys and want to buff the xp of my soldiers'. *: I renamed airstrike to 'Send Govt. forces for salvage operation' also... Makes more sense to me. So far I'm very pleased with the balance.
