silencer Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I think there should be option to transfer both scientists and engineers. Currently If I want to move that kind of staff I need to fire them and hire at new base. Also sacking them requires decomposition of lab / workshop. I think it should be possible without it. Quote
llunak Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 You can fire unassigned scientists/engineers the same way you hire them, without doing anything to the lab/workshop. Quote
Ryodan Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 instead of transferring i think it would be better if research and scientist management was handled from one screen across all bases. I have forgotten to assign scientists in one base on more than one occasion at the end of a project and as smart as those guys claim to be, they sit around until told to research something. Quote
Gauddlike Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What if you have 20 scientists at Base 1 but need to dismantle your research facilities to allow building more hangars or whatever? Base 2 would be the ideal place for your scientists as it has plenty of living space and a couple of labs but the only way to get them over there is to fire them all and rehire at a new place. Quote

American/European workers being replaced with Scientists and Technicians in Indo-China... (and in the game). Quote
Amph Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I would like to agree to this. The current system is very uncompromising and somewhat unrealistic. Quote
Gauddlike Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Bit late though as the game is officially feature complete and will not have any more changes like this made to it. Just bug fixes from now on! Quote
thothkins Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Handwavium suggestion: That in the cold war host nations are extremely reluctant to allow their top scientists and engineers to go to enemy/ competing nations. With an alien invasion also going on, their skills are even more in demand at home. Selfish and short sighted to some, but preserving their national interests to others. Oh, to have had scientists and engineers with skill levels like apocalypse >sob< Quote
Gauddlike Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Plus you pay your workers a month in advance so firing them at the end of the month and hiring new ones doesn't cost any more than just keeping them. Maybe the next GH game will give you some kind of engineers with skill levels, there there. Quote
thothkins Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 >sniff< thanks Gauddlike >Hooooonk!< oh sorry, that was your handkerchief... Quote
Gauddlike Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Well I usually call that my shirt but you are welcome... Quote
thothkins Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I thought it was a generously large hankie. I'm sure it will come out in the wash. Buy wash, I mean via an industrial toxic chemical scrubbing system. Quote
