Ol' Stinky
In weapons_gc.xml, a stun baton's attack is listed as being 15 TUs. In the game, it's 19 TUs.
Ishantil
In addition, it goes up when you try to stun diagonally!
Akrakorn
In addition, it goes up when you try to stun diagonally! That's because it adds the TUs from turning around.
Amaror
I think it's because it adds the distance to the target and when you're one tile away your distance is one tile which equals 4 TU's walking. Additionaly moving diagonally costs more so the cost goes up when you stun diagonally.
FrozB
Looks like it's a bit more complex then that. Screenshots included. P.S. Some more info on this issue - looks like time actually spent for hits is right (15 TUs). But TUs calculation is broken - so when it shows that it will take 51 TUs to use the baton the program will stop you from hitting (not enough TUs) if you have 50 TUs or less. However, if you have at least 51 TUs - you will hit, but you will spend only 15 TUs doing so. Edited September 16, 2013 by FrozB
Ishantil
Stunning diagonally takes 27 TUs, and it has nothing to do with turning. It should not take 27 TUs to stun a guy diagonally. That's absurd.
FrozB
Take a closer look at your actual TUs during attack. You'll notice, that it actually costs you 15 TUs no matter the direction of strike.
Ishantil
When I attempted to use the stun baton diagonally, I had 21 TUs, and it would not let me attack. So the logic obviously is checking to see if you have enough TUs.
Akrakorn
You can't attack diagonally, only when next to the target. So, add the TUs of moving one square and then turning around.
FrozB
Guys, as far as I checked - you do really spend 15 TUs. You can attack diagonally. The only thing, that is broken - is calculation of required TUs (the thing, that is shown next to cursor). This broken thing prevents you from attacking if you have less TUs than it has calculated. If you have enough of them, though - you will attack and spend correct 15 TUs.
Ishantil
Yeah, that's what I was getting at, that the calculation is screwy and isn't working right, thus preventing you from attacking when you do not have the requisite TUs.
