Stealth, Flare Sounds, and Chemlights

Recommended Posts

It's 70s - 80s era? Did they have silencers back then???

Please add:

Stealth Missions, or Options

Moving while crouched (this takes animations... so up to you)

If no moving while crouched, just make stealth disable sound on footsteps or change sound.

Stealth weapons

Knife weapons.

Heavy Rambo Knife.

Flare sounds, I like the PSSSSHHHHHH sound.

Chemlights for stealthy light.

thanks!!

Suppressors for firearms have existed since just after the year 1900; yeah, they've been around for a while.

Most of those other things require additional animation, unless you DIDN'T want animations for them, and simply found some way to create an item whose presence in your inventory jacked up the amount of melee damage you can do by hitting "M," or if you just wanted to use the Stun Rod's animation set.

With regards to "stealth" weapons (not sure what you mean there, but let's run with it), the AI's not really keyed off you firing a "loud" weapon (there aren't values for "loudness" or "overtness" anyway); it's considerably less sophisticated (in this one regard at least) than the older X-COM games you might be familiar with.

Chemlights... not sure what you mean by "stealthy" light; you'd be cracking a (usually) bright green thing that illuminated a meter or two around you in soft light. Chemlights are for marking things, and use in environments where it's dangerous to operate a flare or flashlight (for example, if you're in an environment saturated with a flammable atmosphere). They're about as equally stealthy as a flare or a flashlight, except they don't provide as much useful working light to the person using them.
