Is it possible to incorporate a mental health aspect into the game where soldiers can suffer from PTSD or other psychological issues that affect their performance in combat?

Yeah, it´s possible. We Main-Beta-Testers have made an try with several Beta-Versions. The Problematic was and still is, that it dosen´t work good enough.

It get out of the Game after that big Tests with a lot of Upgradings, Reworks and Bugfixes about to much Problematics. Maybe it will come in again with an very good solution for the Game, like it get done in XCOM 2 WotC.

The stress mechanism is able to work (appear) as a valuable resource in the game, only when the aliens use massive attacks (raids). In these cases, the player needs to maintain an army of several tactical groups so that the soldiers do not lose combat capability after several battles in a row.

Tactical groups also need to create a sleep and rest regime. So that the tactical group, which spent a day on combat duty, could not fight effectively after the end of the work shift.

All this requires the creation of a full-fledged army structure for the player's army (similar to how it exists in the Warhammer game)

Without the tactical Groups an Stress and Fatigute-System like in XCOM 2 can brought in. That get tested and it was not perfectetd for Xenonauts 2.

I love the Stress and Fatigute-Level from XCOM 2 WotC about it´s easyness & individuality for every individual Soldier you have. There you don´t need the unnessecary artifical variable, which makes Xenonauts to complex.
