Thinking about how the mod system works, try the following: <Rank MODMERGE="update" MODMERGEATTRIBUTE="type" type="Officer"><Belt><Item MODMERGE="deleteall"><Item MODMERGE="insert" MODMERGEATTRIBUTE="name" name="ammo.plasma.alienplasmacell" /><Item MODMERGE="insert" MODMERGEATTRIBUTE="name" name="weapon.aliengrenade" /></Belt></Rank> EDIT: That should replace the belt code for every Equipment entry for officer rank.
