Nibelung44
Hi, There are a few good ideas in XCom:EU that would benefit Xenonauts. One is the 'I'm behind a corner but can still shoot' which seems to give more immersion than 'I'm behind cover, I move out of it, then move back' but that's not the point of my post. The problem is the 'last alien problem'. You know, when you have to hunt the last alien in Xenonauts. I find that boring. Can we please have a visual cue as in XCom:EU? Every other turn, the general direction of said alien, because you are supposed to hear 'something'? That would be a real boon to this possible source of boredom. That said, the game is really nice! Vagabond
No you don't have to hunt down every alien. Just occupy the cleared UFO for five turns. Should be on the briefing screen.
Gauddlike
Also the current line of fire system has tried to add the corner firing system with some success. It is not ideal but it works most of the time.
Nibelung44
ok, did not know that, thanks a lot for the answers!! This game is better and better. I possibly found a semi exploit, you tell me. If you escort your dropship with a condor, if you get intercepted by alien fighters, you can retreat without too much trouble. The alien fighters will move away and then you can retarget the alien crash site. Basically, I can 100% guarantee that with a single condor as protection, I can land my dropship even if the air is patrolled by alien fighters. Seems abusive to me, right? Commissar Pancakes
Except that Condors don't exactly have that great a fuel range, which is drastically reduced due to the slow travel speed of the dropship (Charlie). When the Condor runs low on fuel, the entire squadron turns back.
Gauddlike
I like to think of that as the Condor engaging the enemy to give your dropship time to scarper rather than an exploit. The reduced range is a balance for it.
MrPyro
Yea, it's not an exploit; it's actually a recommended tactic if you can arrange it.
Gauddlike
See you were just being tactical and hadn't realised!
