  1. You could also try having one soldier face the other way, then look back in the androns direction... reset the los.
  2. He has some assault shields too, if he spots with those, reaction fire is no prob. When you open a UFO door you dont get reaction fired right away, you can shoot stuff in and then close the door lol. I pondered the idea of a decoy and shooting the ufo in the back, trouble is, condors dont have enough fuel to do that. And like youve said, migs make it a lot easier with much less micro management.
  3. This seems legit, the shooter was 2 tiles away, almost right in my face so no range penalty, just pure randomness.
  4. Avalanche to alenium is a 33 percent increase, that means if 4 alenium is enough, 6 avalanche is enough aswell.
  5. I didnt know that, it almost feels like cheating right there.
  6. I just took a shot from a flanking angle in an alien base power cord room. It said 8% chance to hit, but I knew the angle was legit. I hit 3 times in a row. Weapon used Laser Carbine: aimed shot (25TU) Snipers have 95% through cover over the mountains and through the woods, the real chance is different.
  7. You dont need armor, or investing in anything else, since explosives come free. If you check the save, you ll see that(just like thothkins stated, grenades and rockets are his main weapon of choice. Aliens on normal are so easy to kill, you could strangle them with a cordless phone, not to mention hitting them with a rocket. They die before they even shoot. You dont need stun batons, because aliens suffocate in a single stun grenade. I still dont see how you use aircraft cannons to finish off corvettes. The invisible soldier is scary as hell, I bet the aliens are puzzled.
  8. It happened to vehicles in the original X-Com, the fact that my numbers increase are only to show the randomness of the situation, it coulda happened the other way around I wager.
  9. If youre being sniped from afar, theres most likely another alien within sight range, who is spotting for the sniper. Its bassicly what ground combat is about. Their burst shots do hit much better than mine do... so I single shot.
  10. The armor part is something. I had a predator take 3 shots from heavy plasma rifle in a single turn from a single enemy. 1st shot did no damage 2nd did 8 and the third did 48 damage. Im glad the 4th one missed, itd propably blow up the whole base. Wraiths are annoying, but no more annoying than other species imho.
  11. An excellent point, someone here also mentioned increasing their attack TU costs, so they run fast, but dont kill 3 people in one turn.
  12. Anyone using a grenade one-handed is a designated grenadier in my book. Im all about minimizing risks, I think we all are. Trouble is you would stun your mother if it brought a +1 relations... Actually so would I. Corsairs need stun rockets added. You know, so the country can be all warm and fuzzy youre bringing more and more live aliens.
  13. My main issue with Androns is that they shoot from the landing ship top floor onto the heads of my troops on the ground floor, efficiently hitting and killing them if theyre standing in a wrong spot. They also shoot through walls in alien bases too, although thats from a week or so back. Your numbers are correct again. Caesans get suppressed easily indeed.
  14. I remember the cop actually hitting my people while shooting an alien well out of his range. Or shooting a stunned alien on the ground, because it looks fun.
  15. I dont run up to it from the front, it runs up to me and leaves no TUs for reaction sometimes. (Especially Caesians do that, not more than once a mission though) I only baton aliens, that have already survived the volleys intended to kill them, this leaves them suppresed most of the time. I dont have designated grenadiers so a shock grenade toss costs 32 TU. I do use them for supression, they work well... unlike flashbangs. I agree with this, if its the only target and you wanna waste time taking it alive, its good for your health in the long run. You dont? Weird I had you painted for a mass Corsair the second I saw you. Lets not I have lost as many as 3 on a few occasions, to my defense I did play more than 6 times. The first few tries were embarassing to say the least.
  16. Do you have any mods installed? I never got more than 1 UFO base-assault per base per wave. Downing them is no trouble.
  17. Well guess what, some aliens need 4 or more shock nades to be stunned. Stun baton is faster and more reliable. I think that if you wanna go 2-3 soldiers using their whole turn to subdue one guy for a +1, theres something wrong with you.. I bet youre using Corsairs. As Ive stated yesterday, Id love to see human psionics, no need for mind controling, but decreasing the enemy bravery, like aliens do could be fun.
  18. I agree with Dogdoc, I like the way grenades work in 19.6+2. I dont use flashbangs or frags because of the rookies range and carry capacity. alenium+ and shock nades work good.
  19. I dont know, 3 hits with a baton work.. where do I get TUs for throwing 4 nades at once, when my TUs are limited to 101? And to further push my point, better off only capturing when not risking, no matter the method. I think the Europeans decided to leave the council weeks before I started patrolling them. I did clean their spawnpoints, although its possible a base stayed there for a month too long.
  20. I didnt do the numbers, but my flashbangs dont work even if I bring them in a melee range... shock nades do supress though. I can confirm that out of range fire doesnt supress.
  21. Not in the slightest, let me set an example from feb the 9th. Here is the situation: 4 bases across euro-asia Upkeep: 1,9m The council covers 1,7m of that North, South America and Europe are out of the council(not sure whats up with the europeans ) Im sitting on 2,5m in the bank and still have about 5 more UFO waves to come this month, each yielding up to 1m depending on how many air superiority fighters show up, cause those dont leave crashsites ) Im playing on Insane, no idea whether it affects something here or not. Not saying your plan doesnt work, just saying that it might be too much effort for too little a gain. If for example I go risking my troops to stun baton some baddies that have friends and lose them, I dont have enough high TU units to get to clean the hard crashsites that easily bring in 300-400k.
  22. I believe that a regular scout requires 4 avalanches 3 alenium torpedoes or 2 plasma torpedoes to get shot down.
  23. I find the funding from countries rather comical and the influence of a +7 or so per mission doesnt change the fact, that 70% of my income is crashsites. But like Ive said, if the opportunity presents itself(stun baton still brings targets down faster than plasma fire) I take it.
  24. I delve there to raise my self-esteem sometimes. If anything is an issue, its the soldier stats limited to 101, so they cant reach the same TU numbers as the aliens have. Other than that, I dont think sebillians are op or anything. Edit: What Ish is describing actually is a bug and I believe Chris said its getting fixed before releasing the new stable version.
