+1 for this. Sounds like a great feature. -
Customizing solider details (apperance, name, country, sex)
Teemu replied to TrashMan's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
This thread is a bit old, but I didn't want to create a new topic to request a feature. The naming, etc, I'm all fine with, but is there any chance on getting a feature that enables changing the character portraits (the ones that are already in-game) for the soldier? -
Build V18 Missing Text Strings (#####)
Teemu replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
I've found this in two cases I don't think you (yet) know about. In the first case I got it when I moved some soldiers to another base. In the second case I got the missing string when I had previously saved a role load out, which consisted of some of the first med packs you get. I later then got the updated/advanced ones. When I equipped the soldier with the default load out, the game probably tried to equip the outdated med packs (which I didn't have because of getting the advanced packs), and I got a string message. As a quick notice, the soldier didn't end up with any of the med packs equipped. So maybe as a suggestion, the default load outs could update automatically whenever you get an updated med pack (as long as the weight, etc, is the same)? EDIT: Typos. -
In the save file, the alien is about to run through and "breathe" the stun grenade smoke the second time (making the noise), making the game crash for me. All the soldiers are located so that the alien runs the same way every time and so produces the crash every time http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3841596/2013-04-04_19.29.42.sav EDIT: Actually, I managed to properly stun the alien by suppressing him, and throwing more stun grenades at him, so this might be just a bug where someone is moving through smoke, and making the game crash (which already is reported, I think).

I keep checking all the time. Can't wait!

I'd love to be a part of your team, Fire Water Gasoline! I recently started watching your LP, and I'm quite enjoying it. I've thought about doing an LP or streaming as well, but I'm waiting for beta / the full release for that.

17.6 - Geoscape hang and crash after battle.
Teemu replied to Tnuckvirp's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
I'm having the same problem. Battle ends, soldier development screen etc are fine. When I load the geoscape, the things OP said load and after I click anything on the geoscape (base, research, etc buttons or the Chinook), the game freezes and crashes. I'm using Desura. This problem came right after the hotfix. Before I couldn't even play (I made a thread about the problem). Do you still need a savefile? I could attach it after I get back home. -
v 17.6 No soldiers to recruit
Teemu replied to thedjstu's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
The same issue has been experienced since the previous version. To temporarily fix it, start a new game, hire a couple soldiers to get the list, and switch back to your old game. -
I played the game almost fully. I got to "The End" puzzle and finished it, but I still have to find 10 or so areas. The game is great, though, I fully recommend it. You find exactly what you're seeing, in my opinion, the game is well marketed in that sense. What I really appreciate in this game is once you figure out the puzzle, you most of the time almost instantly complete it. As opposed to puzzle games like Cogs, etc. The puzzles in themselves are extremely clever. Also, the exploration aspect is great. Finding rooms are puzzles in themselves. Overall, the game is clever, breaking some traditional "rules" in game design. If you check out TB's "WTF is..." of the game, you'll have a pretty clear image of if you'd like the game or not. I found the developer's comments about the game to be rather true. If you find yourself get motion sick from low FOV, check out the game's community hub discussions for how to change it. I myself feeling quite ill after 1 hour.

I tried starting a new game three times now (the save from previous version makes the game crash). Each time, after intercepting the first light scout and sending a Chinook to the crash site, the game crashes after the loading screen (the black one). When I reboot the game, there's a save of the game, but loading the save file will just make the game crash again. EDIT: After some more testing, I found out that this happens only if I enable the Iron Man option. Also, sometimes when the crash happens, I get "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error" EDIT2: The same crash is now happening after I end my second turn in the first ground combat encounter. I'm getting the same Runtime error this time. WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS ;_;

Fixed everything for me. Air combat works fine, and the map won't freeze. But holy crap I got my ass handed to me after I was able to continue the save.

Here is a link to my save file. There were three files under the folder, so I included them all, including the config. -
V1.71 Air Combat - Minor graphical glitch
Teemu replied to Teemu's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
Yes, indeed, sorry! The extra two MIGs you see on the bottom of the screen, were moving exactly like the "right" ones on the left, until they disappeared after they moved beyond the line which cuts the green LOS indicator. I haven't been able to reproduce it or figured out how the bug came to be. -
V1.71 Ground Combat - Alien "ghosts"
Teemu replied to Teemu's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
Ah, ok. Sorry, tried searching all of the bugs before, but couldn't find the ones I posted. -
V1.71 Ground Combat - Alien "ghosts"
Teemu posted a topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
I sometimes in ground combat get these aliens, that act as "ghosts". They don't move, you can't hit them, etc. You can also move through them. -
I started a new game, and got out from my first ground combat. After that, when I tried to send my troops back to the base, all time had stopped (tweaking the speed didn't help). I could still press buttons and go to the base, but nothing helped the time to run again. EDIT: New games have also time stopped. EDIT 2: Rebooting the game fixed the problem.

V 17.1 Invisible civilians and security forces
Teemu replied to SSGGeezer's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
Yup, here too. -
Oh, that did it, thanks. It was ticked on, and I launched on 1900x1200 (my native resolution), and it went to complete fullscreen (couldn't drag my mouse to the other monitor). So I then later presumed the other resolutions would work the same way. Sorry for bothering with such a menial thing, haha.
