my wifes maiden name was a possible combination every time she saw me play she'd ask if i had got her yet..of course one day out pops the correctly named rookie (mediocre stats) ..my next mission shes taken over and kills all but 1 of my best squad..maybe i shouldnt have given her that missile launcher to cover them?

i,ve got an idea for a game......its kinda a cross between sims and any game with guns........think it would be appealing to couples. she can spend hours explaing to him how her sim has learnt cooking 3 and got a new friend.....then they can log on with there character and shot anything that moves.......

djm didnt think u were gonna lynch me was a general joke about forums we all know how 1 innocent comment can generate a thousand angry responses future reference to everyone nothing i ever right is meant to have a go at anyone if i want to have a go i will send you a personal message ..at least untill half the forum uses the ignore user button on me............

first thanks to xenomask and djm for spending the time to write post that long i sat back and tried to think if there discussion helped me to clarify my thoughts on the game ............then i decided to replay demo and tried VERY hard too pretend i knew nothing about x-com... and you know what once you try and see how someone with out x-com knowledge would see it..it really isnt that bad in fact its quite good .little bit startegy little bit shooty i would probably even buy it. (please dont lynch me i have kids to feed) however if you play the demo expecting a snazzy and shinny version of the original then of course it's not gonna match up..how could it match up to our own joyfull memories of x-com ... so i for one am gonna choose not to buy it till its cost and my desire for it are at equal level. thats because its not what i want..xenonaughts is (better be since i bought it already!) doesnt make there version bad its just a diffrent choice of game play thats all ..and after all any game that is in the general area of x-com has to help future development of such games happen (i hope) so good luck to it , and xenonaughts ..and in the words of my nieces "kill dem ...kil dem aliens dead!"

hi xenomask i have a question (and i mean it friendly) why do you like the game so much? convince me to buy it....

i agree will buy it when its 75% off untill then will be happy with orginal x-com on steam..(it does look bad but it's so much fun) and with my xenonaughts preorder

confession =still have never finished original x-com....played it for a week so many times got disrtacted came back restarted... i agree with u that u cant compare the two games because of the time diffrence but i think i would like a level map and a better camera movement before i would say firaX-com is what x-com would be if developed now

yo chris message from my 4 yr old twin nieces "make quick please....we wanna kill dem ded!" (i let them press mouse button to shoot aliens ..they are so sad when miss but when the aliens splat they laugh hysterically)
