I tested a 4-cannon F-14. It works. And it's murdering UFO's like nobodys buisness. Simply glorious.
-
Technicly you can, but unless you also tweak the UI, you will only see two cannons. (you won't have control over the missiles) EDIT: One improvement would be be to give missiles ammo. So you can carry more missiles, but because of weapon liock time, you will almsot never use more than you normally use anyway - but it you will have extra if oyu have to divert to antoher mission or get attacked. It already works if modded. You basicly carry twise the amount of missiles, but the weapon fire delay prevents you from spamming them.

Silly question - is there a screenshot key?
TrashMan replied to TrashMan's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Yeah, that works..altough it's a bother to be constantly alt-tabbing. -
I didn't say to have 10-11 hardpoints. That was just an example I'm jsut dissapointed that you cna't have more than 2 weaposn system, in whatever combo. For example: 1 cannon, 2 normal 1 heavy missile..that's 4 weaposn total. You can't have it. 2 cannons nd 2 missiles? can't have it.

Now that I attmpeted to mod the aircraft, I've hit a very big brick wall regarding the weapons loadout. Only 2 weapon systems are allowed per aircraft (GUI restriction I wager), which is major downer. You can't have an aircraft with 2 cannons. I mean, you can, but it won't be able to carry any missiles You can't have 4 missiles and 1 cannon. When normal aircraft have 10-11 missile hardpoints + cannons, it really feels restrictive ot be limited to jsut 2 weapon systems...

HM....I'm trying to figure out how setting hardpointsweaposn work... I'm trying to add a cannon to the F-14 in addition to the 4 missiles (2 normal, 2 heavy missile slots) <Cell><Data ss:Type="String">24,44;32,44;42,44;49,44</Data></Cell> <Cell><Data ss:Type="String">AV.M61VULCAN;AV.AIM9D;AV.AIM9D;AV.AIM7E;AV.AIM7E</Data></Cell> <Cell><Data ss:Type="String">200;90;215;90;215;360;380;155;380;295</Data></Cell> Weapon Position lines and Slot Positions lines confuse me a bit. What is the difference? And how hte hell does positioning work?

Silly question - is there a screenshot key?
TrashMan replied to TrashMan's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Doesn't work. If it does, I can't find where it is saving the screenshots. -
Can't find anything in the options. I can always use FRAPs, but I really wanna know if there is one.

I don't think all images have some heavy copyrighting. In most cases it's "jsut give the artist due credit" . And besides - it's a mod. You aren't earning any cash. There shouldn't be any problem. Also, there's more to finishing aircraft than images - you need proper ufopedia entries. I can write them. EDIT: Those aircraft stats need some tweaking.. And a small addition: http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-history-f14x.htm

Need help with the Xenopedia images and entires? There would make good images: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff319/guss45/greer-f14.jpg http://quackpot.com/albums/jets/f14painting.jpg http://gallery.top-aviation.net/albums/userpics/10009/f14_ts_ss.jpg

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! F-14!!

I mean selecting from existing portraits, not making your own (that can be done by modding). See, I'm making a LP once Beta1 comes out and I already have people sending requests to be a "redshirt". Thing is, I can't re-create those people, because the startign rooster is not like what they (and I) want, and I cnat even see how the future hirelings look like. So when I get a request like: Name: Alfred von Kickass Callsign: Carnage Sex: Male Country: US Role: Heavy Apperace: Black, with facial hair I can't fulfill it. Chances that all of hte rookes I get will be like I need them to be is 0. And sometimes even when I get someones whos apperance (and country) matches, his stats may be compeltely wrong for the intended role. Not to mention you can't change the name or country...

Makes sense. You find pennance in death and pain. Therefore, the quicker you die and the more you suffer, the quicker you are forgiven. And you tend ot suffer more without armor. Just checked it out. Sure sounds like some very silly series. Eitehr way, less off-topic chatter and more Fire... FIRE... FIRE! Everything must die!!! Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It shouldn't be too hard ot do. After all, that's not much info. You can easily make the game store the name, rank, cause of death and mugshot image in a simple .txt file

More Soldier/Weapon Customization & Controls
TrashMan replied to ElTee's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
PLEASE - add the option to customize each soldiers details (face, name, country, sex) Not the actual numbers, but all the fluffy, decoration stuff. It will be great for making that special team consisting of your family...or for Let's Plays. -
That would be a Sister Repentia. And that is exactly why she doesn't have any armor and the only weapon is a giant sword. Pennance. You find it by dying grousomly in battle or turning enemeis in walking funeral pyres. Gotta love 40K... Nobody does large-scale genocide like it does. Why set people on fire when you can set a PLANET on fire?

Xenonauts vs Xcom Enemy Unknown
TrashMan replied to boredcanadian's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
The two games are different beasts The new X-Com doesn't have Time Units, rather you have 2 moves per turn. You can move and shoot or move and move. Also, you don't have to worry about ammo and your soldiers are specialized to the extreeme (so a class can only use the weapons and abilities native to itself) All in all less flexible. Your heavy guy cannot ssut take a sniper rifle from a fallen sniper. You cannot move, and when you spot an enemy whip out a pistol, fire and duck back (because you had enoug TU's). Also, only one base. -
Aye, and you brought up my favorite mythical creature. Indded, this thread shall endure, like the mighty bird of enternal flame, burning forever and ever. All hail the glorious civilians, the glorious Order of Enternal Fire and Phoenixes of all kinds everywhere!

Do it like Jagged Alliacne 2. They have their full names, but they also havea nickname/callsing - and that is what you actually see floating over their heads. I'ts also put between firstname and lastname
