  1. Thanks, I found that via Google, and it seems rather complicated. I was planning on just making this one fix, which would be a simple CListBox::GetSelItems() and then a simple loop up to GetSelCount() to iterate the selected elements, and calling the already written mod activate and deactivate functions. It sounds like you handled it a different way, which is unfortunate since this code seems so easy, and being able to activate and deactivate multiple mods at once would sure make it easier to play the vanilla game, and the CE game, if you ever want to swap between them.
  2. In the mod manager, although you can select multiple items, when you click activate or deactivate, only the last selection you made is activated or deactivated. Also, the activate or deactivate button removes the current selection, and selects only the last item. This is an easy fix, but may require both activate and deactivate buttons if mods are selected that do not have a common activated state. I'd offer to make this fix myself, but this forum's search engine is so bad, I can't find any of the source code for anything.
  3. Has anyone else noticed you can easily throw grenades 1 space through a wall? This lets you, for example, toss a grenade through a UFO's closed door and killing the aliens on the other side. While I've never tested it myself, the door would probably protect my troops standing outside too. I also have a bad habit of tossing flares through walls which block the light. This is very common by the way.
  4. Is http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/13500-V1-59-Stable-Ground-Combat-Game-freezes-if-you-take-reaction-fire-on-teleporter?highlight=reaction the bug you referred to Chris?
  5. Ah, I was wanting to run the vanilla game, and did not realize I still had to run the X:CE executable to get the vanilla game too. Thank you. The X:CE version will not allow deactivation of the X:CE mod though, so it is not possible to ever play the vanilla version without a reinstall it seems.
  6. I also ran into this problem. I can personally confirm even with the XCE mod disabled, just having it present causes the vanilla game to always freeze as soon as you hit the end turn button.
  7. To start with: Do you have the crash log? Did you look at the event viewer? Where does the game crash? Do you have a save file that we can look at to see if it crashes for us too? What mods are loaded, if any?
  8. Just one silly little question: Did you try cancelling the production completely?
  9. When I look at the release announcement at http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/13357-Xenonauts-Community-Edition-0-34 , I can not find Fire in the Hole listed as included anywhere. I suspect it is not supposed to be included.
  10. Oh, before I forget, one minor problem I've seen in this game for ages is whenever I ctrl-esc out of the game to do something, like post in this forum, when I return, the base pictures at the top (the base selection area) show all my bases are non-existent. I can still click them, but I can't see that there is a base there to select.
  11. Just one little nit picky detail that doesn't matter: I noticed that the text for the Avalanche Torpedo mentions to be aware that the lock time for the torpedo is greater than the lighter sidewinder missile, but in the stats both missiles state 2 second lock time. Looking in aircraftweapons.xml shows that both missiles require the identical lock time of 2 seconds. Sooo... This seems like a possible bug in the intentions of the weapons?
  12. If I am building an airplane, but it is not done by the end of the month, do I still pay the maintenance cost for the airplane? Or, do I only pay for completed airplanes? What if I start building an airplane, but don't have any engineers do any work on it, do I have to pay the full maintenance on that?
  13. In my testing, I could not find any decrease in efficiency by assigning multiple workers to production, which according to what I read has the same -1% for each person. Because you can see the exact time it takes to build something, it may be easier to examine the engineers, and assume the same rules apply to scientists.
  14. Actually, it must be a map bug, because I've found I can shoot aliens with whatever weapons I want through some solid walls of buildings on cityscapes. Sadly I again have no save, but I assure you these walls look like they exist, but do not hamper bullets in any way.
  15. My men and women keep getting killed by aliens shooting through solid walls I am hiding behind. It is especially deadly when it is the assault weapons. This happens in cityscapes all the time - it's like the walls aren't even there. I can't provide a save since I am playing iron man.
  16. I greatly enjoyed the Jagged Alliance 2 way of handling interrupts, and letting the player make the choices about reaction fire, and what to do when they are interrupting an alien/enemy action. This automatic shoot only reaction fire does end up with a lot of my soldiers taking poor actions, like shooting at a distant lizard man rather than the reaver I know is just on the other side of that cargo container... I would like it if the interrupt system worked more like the old game of Jagged Alliance 2....
  17. I've also noticed that a soldier can not partially climb a staircase. I had one soldier kneeling at the top of a staircase, and because of that, no one could even start to climb the stairs. I had to watch while over 2 turns he was shot to death with everyone standing at the bottom of the stairs (he panicked due the damage from the first 3 hits which destroyed his shield and nearly killed him). Poor guy, was one of my finest soldiers. Iron man, so I had no option to redo it either.
  18. I would be willing to buy the game if I could get an official looking box and CD or DVD of the game included with the purchase. The main reason is every time I have crossed the border and had my stuff searched, every non-official CD and DVD has been 'confiscated', even if I had the originals in the shipment. It appears this is the policy for border crossings. Annoyingly, I've permanently lost a fair bit of software this way since the keys or serials I kept on reburnable CDs too. I need the official looking stuff, and a box would be good too so I can personally find and identify my games.
  19. He replied 'unfortunately we've stopped mailing stuff out these days so I'm afraid I can't sell you a hard copy.'. He then mentioned I could buy the game from GOG or Steam, but if I recall right, you have to be connected to the internet to do that since it has really nasty copy protection where it dials home and monitors your play time. I've never used either, but last time I crossed the border, every one of my burned CDs and DVDs was confiscated. Luckily I had the originals, and oddly enough, I got some CDs that aren't mine, and lost a couple that were. >.> This digital download thing is a bit too scary for people like me. No worries though, I found X-Com Enemy Unknown used at GameStop, and I have bought every one of those games from Microprose to now, so I should be ok for now.
  20. I would like to buy the box and hard copy of this game because when my computer got stolen last time, I lost every soft copy program I bought. I had to buy several twice since I had no proof of purchase. So, I really want to buy the hard copy of this game, but I can't find it. Where do I buy it?
