  1. Well.. hes not removeing the desura update option hes just adding a download that doesnt need desura client installed... right?
  2. Staker it's just adding soldiers to the game. it isnt affecting gameplay. If anything it just means we get more variation in the soldiers without Chris haveing to do extra work.
  3. I didnt even spot that you thought the nades were free instead of without penalty. BigBalzworth you really should spend a bit more time reading the posts. The bit where you thought everything was rearranged in the inventory from the quickslot caused a bit confusion as well.

  6. easy way to fix any issue with pistol + backpack full of grenades would be the grenades weight. if they reduce your TU enough it wont be that benefitial to bring so many grenades. also the reason to have a belt and backpack instead of one big inventory is that you acctualyl have to fit the size of weapons combatshields medpacks and such in there. cant really fit a rocket on the belt.

  8. On the question "what genre is XCOM, what ind of player would play this?" all i heard was "sellout selllout sellout sellout." I'm very dissapointed with the answer he provided for that question. (I have no intention on letting this reflect on the game itself but the answer was horrible)

  11. I think the order of gallantry, merit and terra should probably have higher requirements then 5 10 and 20. what would be suitible numbers?
  12. What if its a sinus curve instead of an arc? Say that every technological advance puts you at almost level with the aliens and gives you some breathing time, but that they shortly after bring out their reserves. Reservers such as other alien races and even greater alien tech, thereby bumping you back to the previous situation.
  13. Inventory close to the weapon makes sense to me. Although I agree that the elevation control could be someplace else (doesnt need to for me but i can understand why others might want it someplace else).
  14. I'd like the soldier portraits, the next soldier button, Ap reserve and crouch to be close together like in FunkyPoops exampple. That works really well (although I think crouch is a toggle so you dont need the stand up button next to that in his example) And switching around the AP bar so its either on top or at the bottom of the three bars would make it (marginally) easier to see which soldier has AP left and which soldier's bar is empty at a glance.

You could motivate it that you in terror missions secured an evacuation zone and got the civiies out letting the local army set up roadblocks, contain and quaranteen and then steamroll the aliens with superior numbers. In alien base attacks you would secure a beachhead and shutdown alien automated defences/security room. Although if you complete it by theese victory conditions you allow the local military to take the credit, the kills for the last aliens and a part of the recovered technology (or all of it, depending on how much you want to penalize the "easy way out" option). In case you want a motivation that is.
  16. We have noticed just not commented on it... in the sugesstion section. someone commented on it in bugg secton that he believed a CTD was tied to cropcircles appearing or something.
  17. Hmm once i get the second armor i bet im going to saveskumm sending in some lonely soldeirs in the chinook to get that Survival Medal.
  18. I really REALLY like Funkypoops suggestion. Its baisicly everything I want the way i want it. If there are any beamelevator wouldnt just using "up one level" button then click move to the tile directly above the char work?
  19. I understand that posters can be agressive and full of emotion. I just think it would be better showing "strenght" then the absolute worst human behaviour such as cowardly gangbeating prisoners. Have a single fist beat up four aliens from below. That has a more "human underdog uprising beating a larger armed force" feel to it.
  20. I was thinking more "smoke covers your entry" and incase theres an aiming penalty or you cant plain see the alien through the smoke a well placed grenade wont care about los through smoke.
  21. Force soldiers getting 20+ medals to retire back to their original armies as couch/desk generals. There should be some danger in farming too many medals! =P
  22. Ok... why the hell does that remind me of a nazi swastika? probably not a good idea to have black on white on red like that. Also the implied hate thats loaded into that poster is just unsetteling for me. Its like they are ganging up to beat a captured PoW...
  23. Ziggarius how about grenading the entrance for smoke cover move in and then use more grenades (instead of rifle/shotgun/pistol) while inside the smoke?
  24. would th aliens get flashbangs (or comparable alien tech) too or player only item? Would the game still be challangeing enough with such an item ingame from what i assume to be start to early game.
  25. How would geting a reward for doing night missions tell new players anything but "that is a bit special"? Wouldnt most new people consider that anything you get medals for is a bit tricky or challangeing? Also: i like night missions. You seem to avoid them like the plague though. Might want to reflect on what night missions are more then something that gets all your soldiers killed.
