[V22e7] CTD loading ground combat (Cruiser UFO)

The title says it all really. Shot down a Cruiser in South America, sent Shrike there to finish them off, but the game crashed in the middle of loading the ground combat.

Holy crap! You've got Shrikes and Cruisers already? Chris just released 22.7 this morning! Jeez, I'm still assaulting scouts with my Charlie. Did you try it again to see if the same thing happens?

It's a savegame from 22.6. I have played a few hours on this save with no problems until I downed my first cruiser. I could be because it's a savegame. I will report if it happens again.

I tried using 22.5 saves this morning and the game crashed immediately on trying to load any ground combat. Selgald also reported his 22.6 saves crashing on GC too. It doesn't look like 22.7 is backwards-compatible

Yes that could be the case. I downed a second cruiser now and the same thing happened when trying to do a ground mission. Wonder if the same thing will happen if with a new game on 22.7. I don't know if anyone come that far yet?

Edit: I shot down a cruiser in Scandinavia, arctic map, and ground combat loaded properly.

Edit: Then it crashed after a few turns when the aliens were teleporting.

Try with a clean savegame. Chris said there might be compatibility problems with the upgrade.
