WhenKatzComes
Greetings, Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, my forum search had minimal success. I have been diving into linux and am more or less an intermediate user at this point. heres my issue: I tried installing Xenonauts for the first time on this new linux latop (ubuntu 13.10) via steam. The installation returns no errors, but completes in about 1 second. Naturally attempting to launch the game yields: no executable found. So its not downloading / installing at all. I am using the default settings for where I install steam games (~/.steam). I am opted into the experimental branch, but deopting has no effect. My desktop (windows PC) has no issues, so its not a connectivity problem. Other steam linux games DL and install just fine.. which is why I thought it wasn't a permissions problem... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Best, Katz PS. I have abstained from playing since v17 or so but now that things are close to being polished up I just cant wait. Fantastic job! Chris
Yeah, you can't get the Linux version via Steam yet. You need to use either the Humble Store or Desura. Do you have access to either of those? If not, then drop me an email and I'll sort you a code for one of them.
WhenKatzComes
I believe I first DLd the game via desura, so I'll give that a shot. Nice to see a response to a post like this from the lead developer himself! Great community, great support, fantastic product. I will follow up if I cannot access the game via Desura. Cheers Katz
