[V15 - Ground combat/Geoscape] Alien Grenades not recovered

Alien grenades aren't being recovered in the after action report, even though you can see alien corpses carrying them. This also has the effect of not making alenium grenades researchable.

I think as they've been given an Alenium value that they're being converted to Alenium in the same way alien plasma cells are.

Obviously the first one isn't being kept any more since the conversion was put in.

Recycling is bad for science.

I thought alien grenades, plasmas cells, etc., were supposed to be converted after you research alenium. Right now it's impossible to get the alien grenade research.

Simple workaround:

Go to xenonauts/assets/researches and change the requirement of alien grenade from weapon.aliengrenade to e.g. weapon.AlienPlasmaRifle. The next time you capture a plasma rifle it should unlock the research.

Hah, I've got an easier workaround if indeed Khall is correct and they're not being logged properly:

Simply pick one up during ground combat.

Don't know why it should be different, probably because they're logged as being as part of a soldier's inventory which is probably checked at a different time or different part of the code rather than them just being objects in the environment, but since doing that in a mission where the aliens had grenades the topic has been available for me to research like expected.
