I thought I would give this a try hadn't played in several months, firing at an alien through the fence and blew myself up, then shortly after it froze and had to ctl+alt+del out of it and log off.

I just started playing again after a long break, using several mods. The people running around like idiots are worse than I remember, especially the ones that run into the spacecraft, doesn't seem like the place to be. has something changed in the programming?

That worked, I opened the modinfo file with notepad and copied and pasted from your post and kept the file in the current zip file and it installed. Thank you!

there is a modinfo.xml file in the download, so I not sure why it is not working. is there some other way to use your info?

I am experiencing the same thing, says it is not a mod file.

where are the values for turning, crouching, standing etc.

Just got the new PCGAMER and they gave the game an 85, not to bad!

Tanks have worked for me, especially when they try to hide behind one of those really thick trees (hah) blow that cover and all of a sudden NAKED, and the heavy guy says BOOM.

So I went back to a save game near the end, (I'm a saver every 10 turns) when I got the mission report after going into the escape pods it said I killed 60 of 90 aliens, so I thought I hadn't killed enough aliens, so I killed another 100 and the mission report said I killed 160 of 190 and the game crashed. so what is supposed to happen when the game ends?

Don't recall coming across this particular weapon, where does is fall in the tech tree?

Well that was less than stellar, reached escape pods, got a mission report and game CTD, I don't know what is supposed to happen, I know they don't have cut scenes, but expected at least a good job or at least an atta boy. I might add, that was the first crash I experienced the whole game, so I suppose that is cause for celebration, considering some of the other games I have played.

I have noticed at times that what my guy says he uses for a snap shout is 28 and I stop at 30 it then says it will cost 32 and I can't shoot, so why would it take more time units than he is supposed to need?

I don't know if there is some code just for this mission or the rng gods went bat**** crazy, my two shield guys with Mag pistols both took two shots at Sebillian in control center and both missed, that's four shots at point blank range, so I send one of my heavies with the big MAG (this guy damn near killed my tank just standing next to it and not firing at it) up next to this guy and he unloads a clip on him and SUPRESSES him, now that is really bad luck or a royal screwing.

Steam just updated my game and when I launch the game it says I am playing 1.07 even though the update should have been 1.09, does anyone know what happened? Just looked at it again and it actually says 1.07 HF with a date of 1/07/2014

Has there been another update after 1.08, Steam just updated my copy and deleted all my mods, does anybody know what is going on?

Just found openxcom.org , what a great job they have done with ufo defense, similar to what 1:13 did for ja2, all kinds of new bells whistles and mods, kind of alternating between it and xenonauts. way to much fun!!

I think some of my troops are losing there skills, two shield guys with mag pistols, 100 accuracy, each go up to this a-hole alien and stand with one space between them and said a-hole alien and each one of them shoots the ground between them, that's four shots from point blank range and they missed all of them.
