  1. Yeah i would also like to have optional fuel tanks. But that would be more fun to place them in equipement part of the fuselage. Ie you can place radar, targeting system, fuel tank or a coke tank and a toilet for american crews. P.S.: i would like to have more hardpoints and more hp/manuverability for ufos to make battles much longer if you engage 1vs1
  2. During my 3rd ground combat i've lost ability to interact with a game. Could not select soldiers or to click combat interface. Only cursor was moving.
  3. Yeah exactly like GalCiv What you propose is ideal. Really thinkfull behavoir or pseudothinkfull. Why it flew 1000 kms and made a zig-zag? That would look really like it relies on some data-analysis. Also i like your idea of heatmap that is like a graphs in xcom representing some data. Radar cover map, Aircover map. P.S.: I would like to have goverment radar heat aswell not only the circle of xenonauts base
  4. I would like to have goverment bot-planes making a sufficient aircover in the early game. Let's say you have a base in Germany. During first year you would intercept 70% of alien activities in Europe. Then ai would be able to intercept 30% of alien activities in Notrth America, 15% in the South America and 12% in Africa. Next year goverment intercept effeciency would drop 5-10% but by that time xenonauts would be able to react better. Also there could be some events with certain countries stopping to contribute aircover over less developed countries to concetrate on self defece (i presume major countries try to defend entire humanity at first). --- Goverment should try to capture or nuke some landed ufos. I.e. it should not happen often. Lets say USA should have a 5% chance to try to capture/nuke landed ufo on it's territory and 30% chance if it was shot down by US air force. Many US soldiers would die so the mission score would be a little negative on most of occasions. There could be a lot of factors affecting Goverment will to treat ufo on itself: 1. Xenonauts score 2. Xenonauts score in the region 3. Was ufo intercepted by xcom or goverment 4. How long ufo is already on the ground 5. What was the score of this goverment during last try to capture ufo 6. UFO size (if ufo is big, and everybody suck then do not capture but nuke)
  5. This inspires me for an idea for Seek region order for aircraft. Obviously it would take a long time to cover the earth surface with a flight with 150km radar. If automated? That would add an interresting game component i guess. Player would have a feeling that he is doing one's utmost. Seek mission should become available after first alien bases discovered or smth.

  9. Gor are you against horror? What if aliens have skinned every person in sweden and will eat alive those who is not dead yet? Or ok in some other corner of the world with no aircover. Would you care to drop a 20k tactical bomb in tundra in this case? In modern total war the key things are tank wedges and carpet atomic bombings.
  10. The situation is hopeless. There is a UN meeting. Xenonauts just play a role of expert. For example there are 3 options: - Suggest to use already introduced measures and wait for better tech - Use already introduced measures and give a proof that you will be able to intercept more ufos - Suggest to exterminate areas You suggestion would only add 20-30% weight to 1/2 random The problem can appear if you have more then 50 alien crafts landed and not intercepted on the whole globe. 1% chance per month + 0.1% per ufo. If you choose not to exterminate then every country would get +1% to make a pact with alliens per month. And more horrible consequences in case you fail to change the situation dramatically. If you choose to exterminate you will have a score drop and possibly smth else. --- Also i imagine Xenonauts with no nukes. Atomic bombs are not under player's control but countries can use them when needed. P.S.: All this probabilities should not be shown to player in % way.

  12. I've imagined a more complex situation. Lets say at first it was not clear if aliens are making infiltration or what is going on. In spite of attemts to fight infiltration it is generally unknown how many people are not humans. There are some researchs stating that this number is over 2% of population. But it is very hard to determine replicant. Population is migrating in panic. Numerous hidden alien-human labs were found near villiges with thousands of unskinned human corpses. There could be disastrous effect. Extermination of whole communes was already conducted. Now there is a choise to exterminate the whole areas. UN is asking of advice however this advise may not be taken into account. This is a choice you will have to make if you have made bad/unlucky decisions before plus missed too much alien ships.
  13. Any goverment would allow that. Atomic bombardement effect is overestimated in your head. Go read Herbert Wells to see non-tolerast-gay sci-fi but but i warn you it is very much not like harry potter
  14. Well actually Belmakor suggested some minor (but unfortunately spamming) events i've suggested major events, The New Romance talked about flavour events. Why not to have all three types? Events just should not make the game funny or wired. If the horror style would be preserved and event would not make replayability worce then we can have any events. If event is about a decision of killing a million peole in a try to do smth with alien infiltration you don't even need a picture as it is serious and scary enaugh i think. But event with scintist death in lab during alien artifact research would not be interresting without art.

  16. I agree there should be an important events with popups. Also event system should be open formated. If so modders would start to create events immediately. There should be trigger conditions, text, picture and one or several options that would change some game variables or trigger other events in a meanwhile. As for event contents i don't like what Belmakor proposes. For example an event in which USSR decides to nuke every landed UFO within range is much more adult. Or an event with a high alien infiltration into human society (xenonauts should give UN a suggestion to exterminate millions of people or what to do). This events are in scale of alien invasion. P.S.: As for me that would be fun to have an option to loose 95% of humanity and 99% of other animals on earth bacause of wrong/unlucky decisions and bad interception.
  17. I just want to underline that idea of only necessary things added may be not so good. Ie in Wings of War you have a tonn of almost the same planes with a bit different stats and appearence and this makes the game fun. Though i understand the resource limit.

  19. I think that would be fun to have hidden perks. Ie you will never know what perks your soldier have. You will only see them as a stats difference or smth. As for perks like in civ3 i don't really like it. ----------------- Now i refer to Vladimir Vasiliev "Enemy Unknown" book again: Xcom soldier could not use alien pistol or rifle during combat until it was researched. There was a certain mind directive to be given to pistol to toggle safety catch. After the weapon was researched xcom soldiers were trained to toggle specific safety. During one of the terror missions civilian hacker have picked up an alien weapon and participated in the combat. He was accepted into xcom team. It became clear that he can not be mind controlled but can not mind control aliens himself. During one of the late missions he pretended to sectoid that he is under the mind controll came to him and choked him off. That it is a fun perk.
