  1. Yey! More people arriving every day! It give the feel that the game is expanding has the release days get near!
  2. Maybe bravery should be releated to a number of things on a small scale. Like the soldier ranks, medals, number of missions, aliens killed and morale tests/psi. So soldier thar perform well and survives long, will naturally have a higher morale. Dont make sense that a soldier who goes crazy during combat is the one that actually improves...
  3. So... after some point in the game my game Laboratories and Workshops completely dissappear from the things able to build in the base screen. I think it have something to do with the Base Upgrade tech but I'm not sure. It's kinda game breaking since it happen in the first half of the game, making it impossible to expand your research and production for the rest of the game... So... anyone know a hotfix for it?
  4. Yes, yes! Last update is applied! About the income and relations... I think going early game for air superiority really have great advantages! Unfortunately I still lost a continent, but for my next game I have some best ideas about where to place starting bases that I think will solve it. I like the Thunderbolt very much. It's not much an assault weapon since it shot kinda slow for close range, but it considerable middle range capabilities and excellent armour penetration for it tier make it essential to deal with, like, androns and vipers. I dont think the Zephyr is OP, I like it very much. I think the main advantage of it over the regular ballistic rifle is that one more shot in burst. It really is very handy! I already can produce lasers, but I didn't made any yet to make a comparison. I'm in the end of the month so saving money to dont go bankrupt. About the current game laboratories and workshops... so, any suggestion of what can I do? What I need to search in the HEX editor? This bug is kinda gamebreaking since it prevents you from improving your bases... I will also do a thread in Bug Reports.
  5. Whoah, kabill, those are some very good ideas! To my game taste, I dont like very much the possibility to skip full techs when you got a more advanced stuff. To me it sounds like skiping game content. I think it's possible the tech to be attached to each other like forming a progressive scale, right? I mean... you can get advanced aircrafts while still using ballistics in ground missions if you want, but you wouldn't be able to get MAG before laser or such. By the way, your mod idea adds something that I miss very much: easy alien bashing missions. I dont like the game to be easy, but when the game forces you to always be playing on the same tier against the aliens, sometimes I miss the fun of feeling that I improved when facing weak aliens with a high skilled team with top gear. I mean... I love tough missions that who demands the most of me, but those missions are long, sometimes stressful, and doing it over and over again at each wave quickly makes it repetitive and wearing. Sometimes I just want to be rewarded with an easy mission where I can fully enjoy my advanced stuff against aliens that will make me think "I can believe those guys gave me problems once!" By the way... I think you idea and TD Into Darkness mod fit very well together, since both improves the progress scale of the game (and it's not the first time you guys work had that synergy). You guys should talk to each other more! Hahaha!

  7. Maybe the female new armour may give the aliens a shooting penalty. Like they keep staring and thinking "omg! What is those things on it chest!? It... it... it's wonderful!"
  8. Will do! I will just end the UFO spawn I'm right now and will send you the file! By the way, if you prefer to point me out a tuto of how to do it, I can do it by myself. Also... I developed the perfect strategy to fight of vipers, delta vipers and gargols rushes! It's called RRE: Retreat, Regroup, Explode! The name say it all! Hhahahaha! Even newbie teams can fight them off now with no losses! They only return with ruptured eardrums.

So most soldiers starts with very low bravery and raising it is difficulty, what leads to, sometimes, big morales widespread collapse causing a truly team breakup and, frequently, resulting in an irreversive lost of the battle (like when half of you team panick/bezerk/flee just because only one soldier is killed and the aliens got a full turn to wipe them out, leading to more widespread breakouts in the following turn). Although I like to having to work team morale, like not leaving soldiers alone and putting high officers with provateers, sometimes it seems very unbalanced. So to improve it a bit, can Medals and Promotions give more bravery? For Medals, that +1 bravery seems very low to an awarded soldier. Maybe +5 would be best? Or at least +3. And I think promotions should also give more bravery. So at least you can trust more you seasoned soldier to dont take part in the "team breakups".
  10. I am having another issue. It seems to had started with the previous build but still is present in the new one. After something I'm not sure what, I cant build Workshops or Laboratories anymore. They dont show on the base screen. I think it's probably related to the Base Upgrade tech, but I'm not 100% sure. If needed, I can post my savegame here.
  11. TD, the problem with the Thunderbold starting with only 6 bullets instead of 8 still is present. About Jackal armour new color... You pretend to keep Jsleezy jackal pic for the improved one, right? So why dont give the vanilla jackal armour graphics to the new one and made a grayer version of it for the common jackal armour? I think it will suit well the two armour big pictures, since making one of them, like, darkblue or something wont look very appropriate without also recoloring the big pic.
  12. Damn it... Sometimes I think the devs really made Xenonauts very modable in any aspect, but didn't made it to be easy... I mean, adding new anims to this game is a pain in the ass not because it's hard, but because of the amount of files needed...
  13. TD, since you already started messing with new aliens, cant you add new aliens types of the existing ones only by changing it palette? Ol' Stinky already did something like this in his Stinky Alien Weapon Variants creating a feral sebillian. Never tried it however. I had some photoshop skills, a long time since I last used, yeah, but changing some colours is not that hard. I can create those recoloured aliens, but of course I need to know what you may want from the mod, like an yellow dressed caesan to make an engineer, something like that (just an example). If I remeber well, photoshop had a function to do the same thing for a bunch of the same images. Let me say... you change the palette of an specific image and then your order him to do the same to x number of files. He do it automatically and, voilĂ , yellow caesans or red jackal armour after just editing one of the pics (that may be problem if a weapon has the same colours of the changed palette, though). Or, for the time being, you can just create somethink like Jackal Armour Mk.2, with the same graphics, Just like a place holder for something in the future. You even may ask Jsleezy if you can use his enhanced armour graphics, but instead of replacing the current armors, you add them as new armors.

  15. You can sustain more than that in early game if you do all crashed UFO missions. I started with 3 and just after some time I build the 4. I go bankrupt once, but only until the next UFO wave and then I started to produce Korhang for good provit. I'm still tight on money but I do think I will end this month with positive budget.
  16. I honestly cant remember ANY game that I saw people extolling the AI and it creator! Xenonauts is making history right now... hahaha!
  17. TD, do the new weapons only appears after researching Laser Weapons tech? 'Cause if so, I think I can use the full pack in my savegame, since I didn't researched it yet.
  18. That thing in JA2 was awesome. It really helps you to feel the 2D world like a 3D universe.
  19. Yeah, "ruining the game" is kinda pushing it far. But indeed it's annoying... The lack of any help to check the LOS and also the cover angle is confusing. Sometimes I dont know in witch tile I should put my troop behind a rock for it to be covered from a specific enemy or if from that point, especially corners, I will have a clean shot.
  20. Alentium missiles. I never was into rockets, but I think they are very important part of the game now when you face lots of armoured units like an andron rush (or just dont want to waste time with this single caesan crouched behind that rock). It's tough but on the funny way. Since androns dont take that much cover and sometimes spend all their TUs shooting from far away at a covered unit, sometimes even a group of sebillians well covered are harder than them. It's compliment! I like the noticeable different AIs between different aliens and the different tactics needed.
  21. I like this mod so much! It's adds one of those small details that I cant understand why is no present in the vanilla game!
  22. Yeah... already had my first mission against a landing ship... a minor damaged one. Was not very pleasant when the door opened and androns of all sorts started to boil over like the nightmares I had with anthills when I was a child... Smoked everything and fellback crying in despair! Hahaha! Then rocketed their sorry ass to robot afterlife. Unfortunately those elite ones seems made of Nokias... By the way I love the way rockets and grenades are presented in this game and mod. In most games of the genre they seems like exaggerations not really needed. Now I can barely do any mission without exploding something. Sometimes I even snipe a caesan with the rocketlauncher just to "hehehe!" about it. Ok, that was an exaggerations... poor caesan...
  23. Yeah... it would be a lot of alt+tab to check the image in the forum. Well, maybe you can make that specific tile looks like a small hatch of some kind. An escape hatch for the aliens on top of the UFO, something like that. Then you blow it off and enter the alien-can.
