  1. I often feel creative when naming the bases, but I feel held back by not being able to use an apostrophe in the name. The ' key, would it be possible to allow it in base names or vehicle names?
  2. A pilot would really only need Dogfighting as skill, to keep it simple. If shot down there's a chance he can eject and from there a chance he comes back into service. Or she.
  3. Yeah, totally for this idea. Shouldn't even be that hard to implement.
  4. It's a serious claim, and if successful... well... GOOD STUFF!
  5. [badge...r] <-- this (it's a link, click it, got to click the links)
  6. I hope you read about Lockheed Skunkworks and their fusion reactor too?
  7. I decided to play with a logo myself and ended up something like this, mind you, it's only for fun: Xenonauts Logo fun number 1
  8. Ooops, I'll post in there instead, the one time I did not search it turns out it's already there lol, can remove this thread then.
  9. Lots of boring math involved, no doubt
  10. Why not have a thread with fan art, I wondered. I hope it's okay to create one. I decided to play with a logo myself and ended up something like this, mind you, it's only for fun: Xenonauts Logo fun number 1 You got any fun fan art you want to show?
  11. I'd say, if all the placeholders are there, they should take a day and just type the most basic information until the final version, so it's atleast there and you get the gist of it.
  12. Works great in STEAM, now we crave v19 though ;D
  13. While I don't want indestructible items in the game, I often, often, get totally smashed in the air at some point, in almost all games. I don't know what is missing, I only ever get that one aircraft upgrade, and after that I can't research anymore so I don't know what comes. But I do get banged up and after that it's game over really. I do feel some sort of re-balancing could come in handy.
  14. I always do it wrong in Xeno, I often rightclick to get a popup with information rather than wait on mouse-over, I don't know where it's from but I do it all the time in Xeno expecting it to work.
  15. Oh I know they can't take it, but I "roleplay" it Oh and apparantly they can board it lol, just read the above post.
  16. I mean like, say you have a soldier selected and want to move him to stand behind a wall, yet you can't see where you click, and even if there's some other object there. So perhaps if you have a soldier selected, it will make transparant walls until you click to move. Then, of course, while the soldier still stands there it should be see through as well so you know he's there. And yeah, of course you can't spot aliens through it
  17. I love that we have to make sure it's guarded by ourselves, lots of roleplay added by that too. Like how I do my missions, I tend to leave 2 guys by the dropship to make sure it's secure ;D
  18. Sounds good, because I had a real hard time playing through the night missions, mainly, I suppose, because I had a hard time to click anywhere to move my soldiers. I guess in an optimal world you would have a grey outline on buildings in all maps since you come in by air and would get an aerial overview before landing, but that would perhaps just remove too much from the game itself
  19. I actually like the idea of having a pilot that can skill up. I mean, it's a whole new experience suddenly dogfighting with alien ships and you're bound to learn a lot that pilot academy did not teach you when it comes to fighting aliens in their advanced ships
  20. I don't know if it's just me, but the night missions are raelly too dark, all the buildings just disappear. I am an ex-soldier myself and have been in countless night exercises and I just don't feel it's accurate to how it is IRL. Also, perhaps discovered buildings could remains visual as well, so as to acknowledge you know it's there and can easily move your soldiers back there if you need to.
  21. Perhaps a slider in the Settings screen could be made?
  22. I love that now the buildings or whatever that would be blocking the view of the soldiers now becomes transparant, but it leaves a problem still and it's movement. It would be great that if you now mouse-over something you get a see-through instead so that you can easily move your soldiers around. This would be really helpful.
  23. They could have PRETENDED there was more XCOM bases, to let us understand that we're just one of many. And give us some troll feedback at every montly report. That would have given us a setting more realistic and plausible. Also, yes, the base defense mission being ignored, bad call really. Sure it didn't have to be like in the original, but in a very modified way. Perhaps even in XCOM favor so that you just can't lose it and also explain why the aliens try again. Atleast something that tells you that they tried. But meh, I did not like the new XCOM, the only thing nice about it was the combat and graphics. It lacked everything else.
