    freedom of speech and natrual law seem to be peoples main reason for saying the shouldnt be legal ramifications for offensive material. ok fine but were no longer creatures of nature alone .we have reason and logic too. surely such law can work? if we live in a democracy were we have the power to elect officials and complain, vote and yes post views like this, then we can help make sure these laws dont get out of hand.. if turns out we dont have that power then how is it a democracy and in such a case freedom of speech is already dead

    ok ...first hi hwp dont think weve met ..welcome secound you said above that the is no right not to be offended and i think your right everyone has the freedom to say or right what they want as long as they dont force someone else to read ,see or hear it. if they choose to repeatedly encounter it thats there problem the is a right not to be bullied ..ie the same material forced on some one be it by standing in there way blocking them while you insult them..be it by text ,letter or by making sure you post evertime they do on facebook ,twitter or forums my uncle once said "you have the right to tell the world what you think,you dont have the right to intimidate anyone" as for the law its been out for what 9 years? judges and courts are gonna make good calls and bad calls on it ..people like us will debate it...but the are no perfect laws ..most modern law is a result of 2000+ years of painfull struggle and still devolping ..lets hope it works out and in the mean time hope for fair justice...
