  1. I had actually never heard of the game before so I had to do a search on it. Is it similar to "Master of Orion 2"? That game was a lot of fun and I have been looking for a game similar to it for some time. Would you recommend the first "Sword of the Stars"? Something else similar to MOO2?
  2. One thing that I always found annoying was when the soldiers went berserk and would actually turn away from the enemy and fire several shots into the ground. I have never been in combat, but that seems a little silly to me to imagine a soldier turning around in the middle of combat and shooting into the ground. Freezing up I can totally understand and maybe even throwing your weapon down and running, but definitely not towards the enemy.
  3. One thing that really turned me off on UFO: AI was the fact that you can not save the game during a mission and there appears to be no desire to have that option. For me as someone who does not have a lot of time to sit down and play a game before other duties come up I do find this rather irritating particularly because it was stated that people don't want the temptation to reload after a mission starts going bad. I find that to be rather silly. I mean seriously why take away someone else's choice because you can't control your own temptations?
  4. Top five would be: 1. Doom - just blew me away when it first came out. No game ever sucked me in like this one did. 2. X-Com EU - This is a very close second and there would be times when it would be #1. This game more than any has been one I actually go back and replay despite how aged it is. This game was the best at actually getting me so in to the game that I could feel the dread of dealing with an enemy that was unknown and hostile. 3. Half-Life - This one was the only fps that really blew me away like Doom did as Doom had set the bar so high. This one still seemed to manage to what Doom had done for me. 4. Adventure - an old Atari 2600 game that was the first fantasy adventure game that had me hooked. I can't even guess how much I played this as a kid. It is so dated now, but it will always hold a place for me for what it meant to me as a kid. 5. NHL Hockey - This game was just so much fun to play either against the computer or other people. Another game I can't even begin to guess how much I have played it.
  5. Hello all! I am Todd from San Antonio, Texas, USA. I have been a gamer since the late '70's so I have been around a while and can relate to the time period for this game. I have been looking for quite a while for a game to do justice to the original X-com and this is the closest one I have seen by far. Also I want to say this has been the best forum in regards to civility that I have ever been a part of. It is quite refreshing to find one where people are not being so nasty to each other. I wish you lots of luck in being successful with this game!
