  2. I'm pretty sure a corsair can only take max 2 shots from a bomber and Corvette in v19.2, Migs are dead meat on the 1st hit
  3. Another alternative , I probably missed something but anyways The problem: Same as above The solution: Let all Earth aircrafts be free. Let all advanced aircrafts be free, but need Alenium from you. Missiles torps no longer free. Let the attainment of limited Alenium resources be the key balancing force. Conditions: Alenium is to be used as a component in the manufacture of all advanced missiles and torpedoes tiers. Xenonauts share all aircraft research and design blueprints with world governments. 48 hour restock/refit for new Condors and Migs X days for corsairs, and more for later tiers. i.e. every X days = 1 corsair Example of Alenium costs: Sidewinders 2 Torpedoes 4 And double these figures each successive tier grade. Balancing: To be balanced, the amount of Alenium recovered from an alien ship should be somewhat greater then the amount used in it's capture. This should still prevent the player from using exclusively torpedoes against fighters because it would be a waste, and not sustainable in the long run, yet still letting them sell some for $$$. In the beginning a player could loose as many basic planes as he wants, and would be still be unaffected, except for the 48 hour restock/refit delay. (training wheels) Latter on the player would hopefully (if he was using fighters against fighters, and not loosing too many advanced aircrafts) be sitting on a reserve of Alenium. This 'long term' reserve would keep him afloat in case he had a few rough streaks in air combat. It would be a safety blanket, but not anything more. Pros: The player is not penalized in the short term, only the long term or in his play style. Migs become balanced . Alenium resources are better utilized as a game mechanic. Cons: Alenium costs/gains needs to be finely balanced, hopefully it's possible.

The "magic" disengage button is unrealistic, it was at the heart of the original debate in a similar thread to the Interceptor immortality, what a great idea! current thread, I forget were it is now sorry. Anyways the gist of it was "OMG how can an aircraft get away from danger in a click when it's nose to nose with an alien ship" BTW I wonder what you think of my post on the bottom of page 4? Edit: Err sorry I should have taken the time to carefully read through your idea, I get what your saying now, it's about putting the control back easily into the player's hand, and if they are so bad that they don't take advantage of this they deserve to loose. That's better then I imagined, but ... still bothers me a bit, still a bit gamey maybe, but it's worlds better then what we have now, [automatic plane retrieval no matter if it's at the bottom of the ocean].
  5. I think you nailed it, at least most of it, Free human tech? check including migs. Free human/hybrid tech/aircrafts? hmm maybe free, or just much much cheaper, subcontractors could do 90% for free perhaps. Free Corsairs Marauders and up?: The world governments could give you the airframes and perhaps avionics for free if they had enough alien alloy stockpiles from all the UFOs you shot down over their territories, but they wouldn't be able to give you the Alienium for the Powerplant since it's destroyed in crash sites. That should be up to you to provide. Free Alenium missiles rockets grenades? Hell no! Again it doesn't grow on trees or on this planet for that matter, it could be given away, if and only if anyone can capture a landed ufo, since it's destroyed in crash sites. Yes absolutely, and it doesn't have to be $$$ based, after all this is a war footing industry, price is no object. The attainment of limited resources will be enough of "tension builder" "Do I give my team decent explosives on the field, or do i let the migs suck up all the Alienium? or fuel a corsair's powerplant???? This would balance migs v/s fighters handsomely as well, since a torpedo would need more Alienium than sidewinders What about Alien alloys? Yeah it's your call again, to make better troop armor/weapons or gatling lasers for your jets.
  6. I'd much rather see this replace the salvage downed airplanes, because it's so ludicrous an idea that it's faster easier to repair something destroyed or damaged so badly then build a new one from scratch.... wth?
  7. What is wrong with getting handed some maps with less advantages, and others more, that's part of the fun with randomness, as long as it looks semi believable I would be sold.
  8. Ok what's wrong with Eastern Europe being part of the Soviet Union? Would you rather it was part of Europe? Also if the middle East is too small and needs Greece, why didn't the territory up to Kabul be taken instead, Afghanistan, and even Pakistan strikes me as middle east more than Asian?
  9. Not sure if this is the right place to bring this up, but What if friendly nations could offer you free planes once in a while? Sometimes after you suffer heavy losses, perhaps. On a related note, what if we could get 'brownie' points with countries, but would need new air combats such as friendly nation aircraft asking for assistance however improbable the chance that he would be still flying when you get there, then you get to have a chance that pilot will defect and come land at your base if you authorized it.
  10. The costs of ACs were adjusted in 19.2, the Condor adjusted up to 100K, the mig down to 150k, corsair down also, and all build times considerately lowered. How did it fair with people, did not see any feedback from folks. Would much rather see a balance around that then recovered and repaired airplanes fixed up as good as new.

  12. Blew a huge hole in brick wall on farm map light scout, and on reload (resume?) it was healed and soldiers could not path through it. Playing on iron man don't have a screenshot
  13. Same could see inside, but this time the caesarian inside ran out to join his buddy guarding the door, was refreshing
  14. Off the top of my head, if retrieving and aircraft takes 72 hours, I wonder if there will be an option not to retrieve ACs which are fast to build in the mid-late game like the mig. I should be optional if you can build one probably under 48 hours with a few workshops.
  15. I love the OG ranking system Especially only one Commander for all your bases if you had 30 soldiers Would love to see this in Xeno, and I wonder if this principal could be applied to the ground combat too.

This would be a great idea for a mod, but it sounds like a huge amount of work, to have a Public Relations Damage Control team like employees that you hire to try to convince governments to ground air traffic, and tourism while not pissing off said countries, and other things that save lives. And include all kinds of non combat related propaganda things to help. ok pipe dream [off]

  18. Ok played around and got this light red background color, used 64 for the alpha so it's not too dominant in the blacks. To play around with the transparency of it go look in the script and change the tint setting. I'm playing on 1920x1200 so I don't know if the Hidden Movement text will be centered on other resolutions https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgm8dlwlcggufkd/assets.zip (make sure to do a backup of your files edit: I had to remove the hiddenmove.png from the script because I could not for the lfe of me figure out how to have a 1920x1200 image display 'as is' without shrinking or blowing it up....

  22. Yes I reloaded, i'm pretty sure it wasn't there at the end, it was in the cockpit area with the last 2 bad guys, well if it was it there it was invisible
