I'd be in favor of choosing which numerical order your squad is listed, to explain, If I want a to play fast it would be useful if i could know that soldier 1-4 is team A and 5-7 is team B, soldier number 1 and 5 could be the scout followed by LMG or assaults. All that's missing is on the Charlie positioning screen, at the bottom where you see all the portraits, that you could drag them from left to right to assign them their numbers.

  3. Fighter escorts easy = none normal = like it s now, but the escorts depart (into space) once a terror mission starts hard = max 2 escorts circle terror mision and need to be taken out before Charlie can come to the rescue

I tried landing on fighter escorts after detecting them landed after a terror mission, got a big bad graphical bug in a frozen ground combat screen then a CTD, makes sense because there are no maps for fighters, they are meant to explode in air combats. I think it's a bug that they land with the landing ships, they should be patrolling the airspaces waiting for your Charlie hehe, ok maybe reserved for higher difficulty... somethings not quite right with this picture
  5. Yeah I haven't figured how to use Buzzard armor to fly either, up/down buttons would be nice
  6. yeah that can lead to confusion, simple fix would be to make the lit area of the grenade grayish if out of loss, i.e same as day time missions when you have no los on explored regions
  7. It's a pity there is no way to have random maps, def need more maps when this goes gold

I'm no gun buff but, That sounds interesting, maybe not a purist's preference, but as far as a game mechanic think it works nicely, but i'd like to see a lesser negative penalty on the 2nd turn all the same, with a bigger boosted accuracy when crouched since they are heavier weapons and more stable, that would work nicer with the sniper riffle, err is the SR listed as heavy?

A few ideas, 1) Have a belt space quick function icon, like if you have a med pack in your belt, you can just click it to get out the med pack without fishing in the inventory twice to heal someone and put it back in. 2) show the effects of stun damage overlaid in the health bar, gold, gray overlay? whatever 3) like the grenade RL blast radius with a thin circle, ideally with a thin line showing the arc. Furthermore a simple accuracy system for grenades, either two extra lines diverging from center at the thrower to the target, or thin concentric circles at the target? 4) a softer less jagged view of FoW 5) a FoW that is dark but not pitch black which shows the lay of the land, ideally for urban maps, less so for deserts 6) Moral bar icon, what is that supposed to be btw and I guess the morale should go down under stress, i've never seen it drop 7) like MartinSGill ideas of showing available cover and movement zones, XCOM 2012 had that nailed

I tried again several time Kept landing at the AB until I got a different race spawn, the Androns was the worst and I did not continue because the teleporting guys were jumping everywhere and jamming doors making getting to them impossible without rockets to blow the doors. Had better luck with the Caesarians, they had smaller weapons in the HQ and didn't seem to touch the Hyperaware Decoder, but still didn't get it at the end, and i never saw it get hit by anything. Another bug I noticed is when you try to trow a flare through a destroyed base wall, it seemed to ricochet off thin air and fly away in the opposite direction straight out the map! Also I had a row of soldiers against a door ready to charge the next turn, and the alien behind burst fired through it and hit my 3 xenonauts while it was closed.   11. The only way to pause time in the Geoscape is to have a window open, otherwise time keeps going the slowest setting is around 1 min per sec i think.
  12. Ok I managed to win without destroying the darn thing but still nothing to research... Saved game attached: http://rghost.net/46506839 edit: Just kill the last cowardly officer panicking next to the HD, btw would be nice maybe to see a icon over their heads when they are in a state of panic?
  13. Heh bugger... I guess the AI somehow killed the HD then, perhaps when i was fighting in another room to the right of the HQ. Peeking in the HQ from a previous save I saw nothing different than v18.3hf2, minus a couple terminals they smashed. There are two "coms" looking devices on either side of the map, but i think they are the base's generators will try again from the beginning
  14. I got one with many stun grenades in v18 steam, try harder
  15. A soldier wearing Buzzard armor and a precision laser rifle when throwing a grenade had the sprites of wearing Jackal armor. (pointing NE and crouched)
  16. At the end did not get the Hyperwave decoder, maybe it was destroyed? but didn't see anything special in the HQ from previous saves. AI was shooting at the walls from neirboring rooms and thrashing everything and each other. Killed the leader, but captured an officer, but the research for him was blank. Seblian LoS looked to be 19+ tiles shooting out of the FOW, unless the elites can see better or they have an advantage on their turf? A door could not be opened after at it took a barrage from the other side, maybe damaged it?

  18. Are you using a saved game from a previous version? Because there was a bug once and the hotfix for it would work, but only if you hadn't researched the lasers before hand, try loading a save before lasers and see if you still have no ammo in the equipment screen

I tried a PC steam wrapper and sucessfully downloaded the v18 steam version , only problem is the steam client is in Swedish or something, and steam will detect your username from another computer and send you an email to unlock it... not great, but at least it works http://portingteam.com/files/file/7801-steam-windows-version/

It's a compromise, if you use a large pool of soldiers to rotate out the wounded, then even the ones with 50+% health keep their gear on and you must go look for them to strip off all their gear, and sit in the hospital , at least in the beginning when you can't afford 16 wolf armor/laser rifles etc..
  21. I had the same thing with rock pillars, and once inside a corvet, and a few times from aliens inside a corvet shooting out before entering it
  22. HF3 seemed to have fixed the problem for me, played 3 hours with a lot of reloading ground battles, and not one CTD
  23. Sorry I wasn't talking about the city name on the map, but the ufo sighting that said something happened in LA but the tag was positioned near the border of Canada in the center of the USA.
  24. I found a base that way once, sent my Charlie to a nearby landed UFO which happened to be next to an alien base
