  1. Actually, I don't believe I know more about words than you do, however I do like to use the huge fountain of resources that is the internet. You do have to be careful about which sources you choose, but you can find a lot of answers if you can coerce Google to help you in finding them. The dictionary of your mother might just be that, old or written by someone ignorant, or using information that was available back then, which has been outdated nowadays. If an information is right depends on many things, though the most useful support is testable evidence, like that in natural sciences. Once people thought the information that the Earth is flat was right, until they've been disproven wrong and slowly but surely accepted the fact, the the Earth is a globe (that is all but a few, hm, 'misguided' people). Okay, before I can't stop rambling and talking and typing (a bad habit of mine), please stay and continue to give your input, no matter how stupid you may think it is, in the end it may end up being genius and I believe we're all in this life for the learning experience.

While it is true that fairy tales were (and in some ways still are) meant as cautionary tales, the German word for fairy tales, Märchen, does have a somewhat different meaning nowadays, e.g. it could be taken as made up stories. It also is generally more associated with things not so grim, because, even if grim things happen in the fairy tales, the protagonists of the story usually do survive and 'live happily every after'. The reaper would certainly be the bad guy and we can't have a bad guy win in a fairy tale, now can we? (Actually, I think we could, but others might not be so lenient). And as I mentioned, in Germany the Grimm brothers are also know for their work on the first publicized German dictionary, and while I find the picture of a horrible looking creature that is offering help in case, say, a spelling problem in German, it does make it look quite comical to me. Dialog: Pvt. Franz: 'Herr Feldwebel, how do you spell Flussschifffahrtsgesellschaft again?' Sgt. Hans: 'Excuse me, Gefreiter?' [Reaper entering] Reaper: 'I may be of assisstance here, it is spelled F-L-U-S-S.... Pvt. Franz and Sgt. Hans: 'ARGH, a Grimm, SHOOT IT!' [sounds of gunfire, slashing noises, two dead/zombified soldiers] Reaper: *sigh*'Why doesn't anybody want my help, why do they always want to shot me? I'm a person, too, you know.' As for the origins of the word 'grim' in English, it does not have anything to do with the brothers Grimm, it is a fairly old word, as many online sources, including the Merriam-Webster dictionary among others suggest. It has been in use since before 900 A.D. and was even back then already part of English it seems. There were very similar sounding words in Old High German (grimm) and Old Norse (grimmr) and might even go further back to ancient greek, though that is not as clear.
  3. Well, Grimms, that might be an associative disaster area, the reason being those brothers that lived in the 19th century in Germany, which had Grimm as their last name. Outside of (and even in) Germany they are mostly know for their fairy tales, in Germany they are also recognized for being the first ones to publish a complete dictionary of the German language. Then again, it might be a perfidious strategy of the aliens to lull the soldiers into a false sense of security by telling them the fairy tales, and when they aren't looking or starting to nod of, the Reapers strike. Okay, I could always use 'Grimmer Schnitter', which is the analogous translation of grim reaper. @DaftSkunk: I do realize that reaper also has an agricultural meaning in English, however you might want to try a little experiment. Open a google search, type in 'Schnitter' and select the 'Bilder' tab, then do the same for 'Reaper', at least if I go by that, though it is by no means extensive research, it seems to suggest that the picture of Death is more easily associated with Reaper, than with Schnitter. I might go with Schnitter in the end, but I guess it would be biased in this case, might have to do with my forum name and such, Schnitter tm (for trademark). Well, I still have a few months to think on it on how it will end up in the final version. Single designations/names/descriptions are much more easily changed (thanks to search and replace functions in text editors) than full texts.
  4. If everything else fails then I will consider your Maschinengewehrlaser or Lasermaschinengewehr, as soon as it is. After all, this thread is for discussion and everybody is invited to provide input and as most of the thread is in English, you don't need to understand necessarily need to speak German to give an idea I or other people didn't think about.
  5. Thank you for the continued discussion. Well, firstly, there are three common MG abbreviations used in English: SMG = submachinegun = Machinenpistole (z.B. MP5, MP7, P90), often with 9mm pistol rounds or proprietary ammunition LMG = light machinegun = Leichtes Maschinengewehr, usually in caliber 5.56 or 7.62 for NATO forces (e.g. MG3, M249 SAW) HMG = heavy machinegun = Schweres Maschinengewehr, caliber of 12,7mm (.50 cal) or more (e.g. M2) Schweres Lasergewehr is in my opinion not useable, as the normal Laser rifle is already the normal Lasergewehr, which is more of a laser assault rifle, whereas the Scatter Laser is to be used as a SAW and would not have semiauto firemode and the projectile damage statistic of the scatter laser is 60 compared to the laser rifle with 40 (according to V18HF1 strings.xml). Automatisches Lasergewehr might not hit the point either, as the burst fire on the laser rifle is also an automatic fire mode, creating confusion there. However, as I pointed out in my last post, I can use Schnellfeuerlaser, I only need to localize the name of the research project differently to not collide, but still convey the same meaning as the original heading, e.g. Laserwaffen mit hoher Feuerrate or alternatively Kadenz instead of Feuerrate. This, in my opinion, would combine the best of both approaches and I do believe that this will be the way I'll be following for this specific point of contention/discussion. As for the Reaper, the translation Schnitter actually has the same meanings in German as Reaper does in English, so both a farmhand using mainly a scythe to cut grain or the antropomorphic depiction of death as a skeleton, often in robes and carrying a scythe or sometimes a sword, which has come to collect your soul and your life. However, a short google search revealed, that, at least going by the pictures tab, that here in Germany there are quite a lot more people who connect Schnitter with a farmhand, while in English it is more connected with Death. I guess it depends on experience and even region which meaning is associated with the word. Had I not had opened this discussion thread, I'd have remaind quite oblivious and thought that my mental image overlaps with that of most other people. For me, if I hear Schnitter, I firstly think of Death. In a way it reminds me of an old Battletech novels, where they had a similar dispute about the meanings of words for different people with different experiences, e.g. that Mechwarriors would think of a heavy mech first if they heard Crusader, while a historian that is versed in the history of Earth, would think of mediveal knights going to 'free' Jerusalem. This situation here is quite similar. The word Klingenschrecken is the singular version of this word, as DaftSkunk already noticed. It is der Klingenschrecken(sing.) and die Klingenschrecken(plu.). I was thinking less of insects, but rather of a creature that has blades for its arms, coming to eviscerate or worse turn you into a zombie and the fear and horror (Schrecken) it would instill in the soldiers. I would find it quite plausible, that German speaking soldiers might use a word like Klingenschrecken (maybe Klingenhorror or Klingenterror?)to describe the creature to their peers that haven't seen it yet, especially if they were there to witness the eviscerations of someone else by one such creature. Reapers certainly are the stuff of nightmare, even more so if you let them get close, which can happen easily in closed enviorments with lots of hiding places and angles of attack. In a way I imagine them to instill a similar horror as the aliens did in the Alien and Aliens movies (and lets forget that Alien 3 and Alien Ressurection ever happened), the same aliens that probably have also inspired the Chryssalids in UFO:EU and these Reapers here in Xenonauts.
  6. Thanks for your feedback. Your mention of the Maschinenlaser made me think for almost the whole day on alternatives, however, I might go ahead and use Schnellfeuerlaser as a designation for the weapon and change the name of the research project a bit to maybe 'Laserwaffen mit hoher Feuerrate (Kadenz)'. That way the designation both won't collide with the reasearch project name and it is clear right from reading the designation as to what its use is. In a way it also makes the research project sound more scientific, doesn't it? As for help, even if you can't help with translation, checking or testing, you can still give feedback on what you think and where you think the translation might be adjusted and how. And your paper, go on and write it, getting an education and finishing it good is more important than a translation for one game, the first one will pay the bills later on in life, the latter one doesn't (or at least not in this case, as it is voluntary), but it is more than a gamble. As for the quality of the localization, I don't know how good it will end up, that's for other people to judge, but I'll give it my best effort. However, I do agree that good translations can be very enjoyable, sadly there are few out there and even then there is only the rare occurance when a translation outshines even the original. Anyway, I believe I will be able to post up some .xml for testing/trial next monday.
  7. Which is the real purpose of the G3A3ZF, the weapon depicted in Xenonauts. Although if we'd want to stay more real then you'd have either 5, 10 or 20 bullets in a magazine and you'd be able to switch to full auto, not that it would be enjoyable with a high magnification scope and the kick of 7.62mm battle rifle.
  8. That is the thing, you know, having a translation that is close to the original where possible, but adapts where needed. The thing is, the German word Furie, which is the translation for Fury, is more associated with a hysterical woman than a state of furious rage and the mental imagery would not fit there, at least when it concerns a military aircraft. The word Zorn would describe the state of mind at least much better. But, as I pointed out in the text, the word Rachegöttin (goddess of revenge), which would be my preferred substitue for Zorn, it would describe a creature (or thing) that is using its rage or wrath to visit vengance upon those who have sinned or commited evil, at least according to the goddesses view. If possible we should try to at least respect the wishes of Chris. I might also remind you that both the Foxtrot and Charlie designations are also no entities, but just words used for spelling purposes by the ICAO/NATO, so Zorn might be a possible interpretation of Chris' image of what the Fury is supposed to mean. I do welcome your input, as it makes me see things from another perspective and that is what discussions are for.
  9. In here I'd like to have any and all discussion on the German translation. For the first discussion subject (and this will be a long one), I'd like some help from the community and from Chris to decide which terms to use on those translations that are not clear or have to be changed on grounds of other consideration in German. I'll be posting the word in question, then it's possible translation and information on those and I'll do this in English so that everyone here can understand. Any German people would understand the translations themselves in any way. I'll put my preferred translation(s) in bold face and hide most behind spoiler tags, as it will be quite a long post otherwise. Warning: The spoiler tags are both here as a means to shorten the display length of the post, as well as to keep people that have as of yet advance further into the game to get spoiled on the possible things that appear. So, if you do not want to get spoiled on what is in store for you in the future, do not read on. 1.) Race Names 2. Vehicles (air, land and space) 3. Weapons and items Okay, those are the terms that I really need some help with, there are a few other, minor ones, where I have several synonyms, but those are easier to decide on and are not so rife with meaning. The only other clarification I would need right now has rather to do with game mechanics. I need to know how the value of armour mitigation exactly works, to help get the right translation for this stat to make sense in German. Now that I've reached the end of this post, let the discussions commence.

  11. So, this is going to be the thread were I will be posting any updates, changes and information on what I did and where I'm at in the translation process. I'd like to ask people to refrain from posting in this thread if possible and post suggestions, questions and further requests in the seperate German Translation - Discussion thread. This will help keep this thread focused on information. Files ready for testing will be posted in this thread, as soon as I deem them ready for consumption. So, without further ado lets start with the first update news. Update April 8th: I've been working on refining translation for the general and Xenonauts related terms in the strings.xml and put them in my reference file. Currently there are quite a few terms for which I have several possible translations, for those I would need help from both the community and Chris to help decide which ones should be used in the final version. I will post those terms in the discussion thread, each with a short description, to show my thoughts and what the meaning of the german words are for those not speaking German. For this week I plan to continue work on the Xenopedia entries, as those will be the main bulk and the hardest part of the translation. In my preliminary tests I already translated the first few entries that could be found in the Xenopedia (e.g. F-17, MiG-32, Alien Invasion). As I already detailed, I will try to work in a chronological fashion, both because I think that most of the early description that are already in will not change much (if at all) and because to me it makes more sense. It will also help testers to follow the escalation and not have to jump to and fro to test/check the translation. I will probably be doing translation work from monday through friday (or saturday depending on the week) and do some editing/checking on sundays, so I can post up files for the monday updates. Naturally, I'll be using the latest game version to do this, which is why I might sometimes need a quiet day (like sunday) to adjust for new entries or updated files posted with the new version. If nothing is barring the way I should have the first files ready for testing up next monday. Okay, now that the first update is out of the way on to the discussion thread and let's decide on the German localization on some of the terms that do not have a distinct, easy or good-sounding translation in German.
  12. I had something similar happen with a Light Scout that I shot down. My Xenonauts went to the crashsite, I deployed them in my standard formation, then I hit 'End Turn' and the Debriefing screen poped up. I didn't have to fight enemies, what was different to the previous bug however, I did get 3 Sebilian (I think it was Sebilian and not Caesans) Corpses and their weapons (sold) and ammo clips. Previously you'd only get the Alien alloys, but no money/corpses. I'm now up to 9 crashsites cleared and only had this happen once, so the occurance of this bug does not seem to happen often. Now, in my case an explantion would be, that all hands on the UFO were killed in the crash and you'd only had to go there to pick things up, but I don't think that such a behaviour is programmned into the game.
  13. I just wanted to show some of my thought processes on how I evaluate a translation of a term and if it fits or not. While we're at it, there might be a bit of a problem of getting a localized 'End Turn' button, as it is not a text string, but a graphic, so I was wondering if your artist(s) could make one without the text on it, so we can do a translation of the button by putting in the text in something like Gimp or Photoshop. I also saw a graphic for the 'Transfer to' dialog in the Stores screen, but this one seems to be missing in the new UI (at least I couldn't see it on the pictures you posted), so a blank for that would probably not be needed. If I just missed it or if it is still used in the final UI, then a blank for that would be nice, too.
  14. The one on the picture for the new research screen, right? That guy reminds me a bit of Gaius Baltar from the new Battlestar Galactica series. Okay, back on topic. I'll have to disagree with using any german translation of the word harvester for the reaper, as at first people might associate a farmhand or a harvesting machine in their head with the available words, not something that does justice to such a deadly and menacing enemy as a reaper. While the translation for reaper, Schnitter in German, might also give the picture of a medieval farmhand cutting wheat with his scythe, it is more often associated with the grim reaper and there are not many mental images that can invoke much more dread than the incarnation of Death itself, quite fitting for such a deadly alien, too. If I use a translation of harvester people might underestimate them at first, until they get in an encounter where they're cut up and transformed, but even if they do learn to fear them, the picture of a raging farmhand or an out of control harvesting machine still does not seem as doom inducing as a mental picture of antropomorphised Death. Caesan on the other hand, on what I've done with the strings.xml, I named Caesaner in German, which is just the germanification of that race. I had similar things in mind for the other races, besides reapers and wraith, though the latter ones are giving me a bit of a headache. There are quite a few options and none of them sound too right to me, I'll have to figure out something for them. Luckily for me, however, German is at least somewhat flexible and non-immersion breaking if I should choose to use the original English term and in some cases that might even make sense, like the Fury interceptor. While the German translation for Fury would be Furie, the picture it can and probably will create in the minds of the readers first, is the picture of a raging, hysterical woman and I don't think that this is the right picture you should have in mind, when you read about the top-tier interceptor. There are actually many words borrowed from English, even though some words do also have a German equivalent. To download can be translated to either downloaden or runterladen in German, both words are used in an equal amount. Cool (as in awesome) has surpassed the use of the original German word geil (which can also translate to horny in English). I do enjoy have such an amount of flexibilty to use in a localization, as I am not fully confined to force everything into German, as this might even break immersion. Other things, like leaving the Hunter scout car at the Hunter instead of the Jäger designation, it would be in german, are also reasonable. The Hunter is based on an English support vehicle chassis and since the Xenonauts are an international organisation with people from mainly (though not exclusively) English speaking countries, it would make sense that English is used as the main form of communication, therefore even soldiers from Germany might or even would use the English designations. Well, I guess that is enough explanation for now.
  15. Hi Xenonauts community, so, I've done some thinking the last few days on a translation of all the texts into German and decided to give it go. In this thread I will give you some information on myself, assessment of my pros and cons, my current assessment of the workload, a plan of how I want to do this translation, which kind of support would be helpful and any other information I can think of. I will put this information up here in both English and German and for your scrolling convenience hide it behind spoiler tags. Hallo Xenonauts Gemeinschaft, in den letzten Tagen habe ich mir Gedanken darüber gemacht, ob ich denn eine Übersetzung aller Text ins Deutsche versuchen sollte und habe letztendlich entschieden es in Angriff zu nehmen. In diesem Thread werde ich grundlegende Information zu mir selbst, Einschätzung meiner Fähigkeiten (gute wie schlechte), meiner derzeitigen Einschätzung über den Arbeitsaufwand, der Methodik und Planung der Übersetzung und welche Ünterstützung durch die Community hilfreich wäre, darlegen.   18. So, if you do want to get a feel on what goes where I annotated the English V18 strings.xml with comment on which does what, at least as far as I know it. Since I did my translation with the Vim 7.3 texteditor, having comments is quite helpful, especially if the text editor shows comments and such in a different color.   19. I did not yet have Valkyries, haven't played that far, but it should work that same as with any aircraft. Go to the aircraft screen, look to the Aircraft Selector window on the right, select Dropships there, then look left and under the callsign of the Dropship is a little thingy that looks like an internet link called CHANGE THE EFFIN' CALLSIGN, YOU BLIND PERSON YOU, well, okay, maybe it is just called Change Callsign. Click that, enter the name and I believe you'll be one happy camper.
  20. Well, if you want to change say a F-17 Condor to a MLP Fluttershy then you'd have to do this first in the strings.xml. Seek out all entries with condor in them and change the second line, as the first line is a descriptor and if you change that you'll lose the linkage for that entry. Further instructions in the spoiler. Okay, and now onto the topic. It is hard for me to decide between the Saracen and the Marauder picture, I quite like both of them in their own way, but I'd go with the Marauder picture, as I like the in my opinion darker and more menacing look of it.
  21. Just a little thing, the strings.xml and the Xenopedia are still missing quite a few entries, therefore an assessment of the total workload right now would be just a wild guess. On the other hand, several of the tooltips for item descriptions use almost the same text with only minor additions on what has changed in a new version of the item, e.g. from ballistic rifle to laserrifle, the basic text is virtually the same, with addition on how stats would change for the laserrifle. This reduce the workload on some of those descriptions, as you can just copy and paste and add/adjust what is missing/needs adjustment.
  22. Here is my point to the discussion on translation qualtiy of professional translator. A few months ago there was a report on game localisations in a German games magazine (http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=675&pk=2569679) on how they are done and why the translation and/or voice actors often seem of lesser quality than the original version (this pertaining mainly to triple A titles, but being applicable to many other translations too). The main gist of the article was, that the professional translators get sent the text, sometimes complete, sometimes in chunks with the assignement to translate it. Those translators have never seen the game and often never will, which leads to a problem, he will often have to decide by the seat of his pants how to translate certain words or phrases that have potential different meanings in the target language. One brief example mentioned is the word 'threat' to which no context is given and which does carry different meanings in German, either 'Drohung' = a vocal threat made by someone or 'Bedrohung' = a physical/mental threat that can cause potential physical harm. Similar things happen with voice acting, the voice actor are given their script, never having seen the scene for which they are voice acting, not having proper instructions in the scripts on how to deliver the lines and therefore the result will be lackluster voice acting, for which you often can not blame the voice actors themselves. The thing is, a translation done by a professional might still 'suck', maybe not in the worksmanship, but in the overall tone and immersement factor for the gamer, as the translators are often just hired to translate and are not give the correct context. Community translation on the other hand can , but don't have to suffer from bad workmanship. If the people to translate, correct and adjust the script are good at working together and also know how to translate stuff (e.g. when to translate more literally or when to translate meaning) then a community translation has a much better chance of giving an immersion factor than a professional translation ever might have done. Why is this so? The people are comitted to the game and to the experience and are already immersed in the universe, something that lacks with most professional translator that are mere mercenaries in comparision, translating what they've been given and then moving on and never looking back. As some of you may know, I already did a rough German translation of the strings.xml (posted in the modding subforum) to show how a translated version could look like. I did run into the problem of how to translate some of the things, as I have yet to play the game into the further endstages. Especially with the body armor and the later appearing power armor (is this akin to something like Space Marine power armor in WH40K?) or if I should translate any designations into German or not. For now I decided to translate most of them, but luckily, if I have to change it, it can be done easily with the right text editor (e.g. with Vim's 'search and replace' functionality). The main thing I see in a community translation, is that it should not be a one-man show. I for one would be involving the community from square one. I would want to settle on one or two main translators however, as a lot of cooks spoil the porridge according to a german proverb. Community involvement in stage one or pre-production if you'd want to call it that, would be the decision on the translation of designations and item names (e.g. should English designations for aircraft like Shrike and Valkyrie and such be kept in English or would they want a translated version). After the decisions have been made, you'd need testers for your translation and maybe someone who can help with editing and distribute the workload between the different parties. The translator(s) goes first, does his batch of translation, sends to a tester/editor to check for errors, etc. This way an immersive translation might come around that rivals or even surpasses professional translation done for games. Naturally, this is only the case if the right people are chose. Someone that only translates with the help of a dictionary and little knowledge of as in this case English will not do and the translation will end up in a mess. On a personal note, I translated the first few Xenopedia entries up to and including the Mig-32. It's only the first five or six entries, and you'll either have them from the start or shortly after it (Entries on F-17, CH-48, Autocannon and such) and I don't think much of those would change. Right now I think I'll translate a few more of those which I think will remain in the game, mainly early game stuff (Ceasans, Alien Alloys, Alien Plasma pistols and such). From my experience with the strings.xml, as Chris already mentioned, it is a bit unstructured, since there are strings insterspersed that have to do with the news ticker or entries for the option menu keybindings are in several places, but mostly it is already workable. I have not found many strings that are still missing. Some of the things I did notice however were: - New Game, Load Game and Game Options on the first screen seem to have strings in the strings.xml, but still show the English version - No string for 'Funds' in the subscreens - No string for 'Unassigned' in the Soldier and Vehicle subscreens - Apparent strings for 'Fuel level' and 'Paused - Press Space to resume' for Aircombatmode not seeming to work - Strings for soldiers nationality in the soldiersnames.xml files - Groundcombatmode Tooltip for Equipmenttile only working when in the grenadeselction screen of the tile - No tooltip on End turn button showing and End turn button seems to be a graphical element with no text string to adjust. - '%'-character in text (with- or without ASCII code) making tooltips dislay only ####, as xml seems to expect a variable to refer to and not finding it. Workaround for now, write out percent instead of using the character itself. - All tooltips in Arial and case sensitive, most other strings printed in the Xenonauts font with only capital characters. This as a reminder to write case sensitive for tooltip entries, with other entries it does not matter as it will be rendered out in all capitals anyway Other than that everything that I checked seemed to work out fine, other than the occasional I have to be more brief with some entries or they will overlap. Curse you, lenght of German text, curse you. On the style of the Xenopedia entries. If someone translates them, the style should be that of a very self-assured scientist, not really a military person. This head scientist is certain that his intellect is above that of his peers and definitely above that of everyone else, the commander included at times. His demanor is bordering on arrogance, even overstepping that border at times. This is the gist I got from translating the few Xenopedia entries I worked on. The style of other entries (e.g. research descriptions, item tooltips) should probably be more in a neutral and informative tone. Oh, and sorry for this wall of text.
  23. Not yet, wasn't available for me in time to use it, but at least I was able to type normally after a333 gave me the right clue of saving the file in UTF-8 encoding, that did the trick. But since the font will be integrated I don't think I'll have to make great adjustments for that, as it should render out nicely once it's here. Other than that there are, naturally, a few small problems, but for some of them I would have to wait for the final UI to be implemented to assess which changes would have to be made (synonyms, abbreviations, etc.), as you've been already told that most of the time German needs a few more characters to convey the same message. Right now this is a private project just for me, anyway, but I thought that some might like it to be shared, if only to have a glimpse of what a German translation could look like in Xenonauts. Basically a full scale translation would probably cut into my free time and I don't know if I would want to invest that time, especially with a full-time job on the side. I'll just see how far I will take this.
  24. Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the amount of German in this post, but it is mainly targeted at people using German. Secondly, I've made a very rough german translation of the string.xml. If you are interested in how the game could look in a different languge you are certainly wellcome to download the strings.xml and put it in your assets folder, just remember to back up your original strings.xml first, or you'll be stuck with German or have to reinstall the game. Oh, and a little reminder for people usind FDM like me, it will download the strings.xml as the file null. In that case rename it to strings.xml Waring, German language section commencing. So, mir war langweilig, deswegen habe ich, während ich viel Blut und Tränen vergossen haben (oder auch nicht ), mal alle derzeit vorhanden Einträge in der strings.xml ins Deutsche übersetzt. Dies bedeutet, dass alle derzeit vorhandenen Tooltips und fast alle anderen Einträge in den Menübildschirmen in Deutsch angezeigt werden. Einige Einträge, wie z.B. die Nationalität der Soldaten, sind allerdings immer noch in Englisch, da diese Einträge entweder in einer anderen Datei sind oder aber fest im Spiel verankert sind. Auch die komplette Xenopedia ist noch in Englisch. Es gibt auch noch an anderen Stellen Probleme wie beispielsweise Tooltips die nicht angezeigt werden (Duckentooltip im Kampfbildschirm) oder Texteinträge welche für das Textfenster zu lang sind (z.B. Absturzstelle). Ich möchte hiermit noch einmal daran erinnern, dass dies nur ein Prototyp ist, der die Machbarkeit und Möglichkeit einer deutschen Übersetzung sowie ihr mögliches aussehen zeigen soll. Diese Übersetzung ist nicht von Goldhawk Interactive in Auftrag gegeben worden, sondern ein rein privates Projekt, daher sind jegliche Übersetzungen garantiert nicht als final anzusehen. Da Chris zwar eine deutsche Übersetzung angedeutet hat, aber hierrüber noch keine Informationen vorliegen, kann man diese Datei zumindest zur Überbrückung nehmen, wenn man mehr Deutsch im Spiel haben will oder es jemandem, der des Englischen komplett unkundig ist, zeigen möchte. Mein Hauptaugenmerk war vorerst nur auf einer schnellen und groben Übersetzung, daher werden sich viele Tipp-, Rechtschreib-, Zeichensetzungs- und Grammatikfehler finden lassen. Hier möchte ich darum bitte, darüber geflissentlich hinwegzusehen. So, jetzt noch ein paar Informationen zur Installation. Einfach die Datei von dem folgenden Link runterladen, dann ein Backup der aktuellen strings.xml erstellen (zu finden im assets Unterordner) und die aktuelle strings.xml reinkopieren. Spiel starten und man sollte viel Deutsch sehen können.
