  1. Oh right, you are that guy that can shoot down anything with 1 F-17 while being blindfolded. It most be the name that scares the aliens, "here comes the Pandi". It actually sounds good for a plane/pilot that just flattens the opposition.
  2. The first map I made was actually an arctic one, as I agree with you that some arctic maps are a little empty/boring, it kinda goes with the setting but still. I have another kandidat for worst map categori, the arctic map with a big lake going through middle, almost cutting the map in half, and the rest of map are just some trees, rocks and huge open spaces. I do not see any reason for that map to be in game, not even for varierity reasons. It feels very undone.

  4. I am listning, I have so many ideas already. If only I knew the method of doing my real live work in my sleep. I really enjoy the videofeedback, if a picture is worth a thousund words, a video must be worth atleast a million. @Sectiplave I think I know what map you are talking about, and if it is the same, calling it "very bad" is very gently put, in my oppinion.
  5. I believe through personal exsperience and your own video this improvment comes in the 0.99.50 version. If this is not to much to ask, please do. Set the AI free and let them play with no hands tied . I will definately try this option if you make it. Despite this I would like to say, that it feels a more then complete game already. I never heard of Xenonauts before steam showed me a add last summer on sale for only 60 danske kroner! That is around 7 euros, and then have option to get X-Division. Bargain of the century, almost.
  6. If it does not bother you, yes please. I am new to this hacking stuff so it gives me opportunity to learn. Do not worry about your english, I understand you fine. You use google translate correct? I do not use it, because google do not understand danish very good. Maybe we should use private message, I do not think Charon wants this conversation in his topic since it is not X-Division related.
  7. @vasig All I did was change the FOW to make it more dark and tense, and as I understand it Charon is make my changes default in X-Division in future versions. But if you want to change it yourself, do this : I think it may be to much, but how did you change the floor and walls? Please tell me, moy drug. I would be interrestet to try, just for fun. Now you only need Arnold to shout "Get in da Choppa"
  8. @Charon A little demonstration on how the FOW changes will apply to alienbasemissions, since I just remenber that they are always nightmissions. I think it looks dark and grim, I like it. What do you think about it? Short describtion : Open door notice 3 alien, can barely see the ceasan and xeno. Take one step forward. Turn 45 degres right.
  9. Hmm strange no one else finds this a little anoying when you have more than 16 decent men in base, must be just me. I would rather have a little more men vs more aliens, and I know I know I know, I can just do it myself and in my defence I am very slowly learning as you can se.

  11. Here is the thing, I really enjoy the differenses between Xenonauts/X-Division and openxcom. One of them is that you dont/cant have as many exspandebles in this as you can in x-com. I dont favor one mekanik over the other, different games with different rules/systems, but I still kinda feel like 20 or 25 would be better since it is your base and have many decent guys not joining the battle, they just die if you lose base as if they were not even there. If it is because of balance issues, why not more aliens then if possible?
  12. I editted the tilerenderer file in XCE with Sublime Text, it is a lot easyer to navigate with that rather than notepad, thanks for telling. I used these values : <FOW> <Day min="0.7" max="1.0"/> <Night min="0.05" max="0.5"/> <DawnDusk min="0.25" max="0.75"/> </FOW> I also made DawnDusk darker, even more dark than original "night".
  13. I actually figured out of it, it is the tilerenderer file in XCE, only took me a couple of hours , after I checked almost all the files. Before my change. No one can convince me this is nigth. After my change. Now this is night. I migth even make it darker, but I like this for now. Interresting to see the effects in gameplay. I just had this crazy thought of what happens if you get infected with larva and you did not die, than next turn you get shot and die, but it makes sense that if the host dies, the unevolved larva dies too. Also good news about new behavier of reaper so they dont always go for vehicle. May I ask why?
  14. Some quistions @Charon. What fil do I have to change to make the nigthmissions darker? I can not figure out which one it is. They feel like evening and not nigth. The reason I ask is I have to start a new kampagne, and I am unsure if it will mess with something if I change during a kampagne. About some changes to 0.99.50, the revised zombify mekanik I guess it will be what kills you, not injure will determin what happens, correct? The new baseattack mekanik is very interresting, but will there still be limit on soldiers in the figth? 16 I believe in original, despite me haven 25+ soldiers in the base. Thanks in advance.
  15. I did not plan to, what I meant was I wont bother you about modding, until I learn some basics, if I learn this computerhacking stuff that is. Dont worry, if I have quistions or find odditys in gameplay I wont keep quiet, you can count on that .

I will try to selfeducate on the subjekt with google and videos, if I do make some progress I hope that you will take a look a it.   17. Alright alright hold your horses you got me, I just downloaded the sublime text 3 and I will see if I can figure it out. Just dont exspect much from me, my biggest issue is lack of time since I have kids and run my own one man bisness, but DO exspect to be bombarded with quistions from me. By the way I just started to follow your channel and I have already asked some quistions regarding the changes from 0.99.45 to 0.99.50.

Unfurtunatly I can see multiple issues with this suggestion, I really dont know anything about this stuff, it will cost you more time and frustration than you could imagin, trying to exsplane everything to an oldfashioned guy like me, that has never had facebook, twitter etc and thinks socialmedias are stupid and the exact opposite of being social, how some call it social when you can not see the person in the eyes and can not read there bodylanguage either is beyond me, I have never wrote a comment on the internet before joining goldhawkinteractive and I only did that so I could download X-Division, I have short fuse, no patience with elektronik devices and only solution since childhood when they dont comply is pure violence. That is me. Now are you still sure you want me to realise your ideas?
  19. @Charon I guess that taktik could work in vanilla game, but I am not gonna try to find out, I do not se any reason going back to vanilla when playing this absolut beast of a mod you helped create, and yes I do not consider X-Division a creature of God, it is something else. I only wish it was that easy to make mods as you say so I could help, but I do not have the skills or knowhow like you do. I only got lots and lots of brains to come up with ideas, not saying that you do not have brains too, or am I. Let us make an arrangement, I come up with ideas and you make them happen how about that? Sounds good? Sweet!
  20. That was a very legit and valid demonstration in that video, never really considered bringing 5 shields in X-Division. My point was a actual throwingspear, but then again why throw spears when you can throw grenades with splash damage, unless offcourse they could litterally pin aliens down to walls, trees etc, so they could not move, that would be pretty cool. Maybe and idea for a late implementation to future X-Division versions? I know I would use it, atleast for fun. Maybe a glue/slime grenade to pin enemys down for a few turns?

I have a strong feeling this only works effectivly on beginner and easy difficulty, since on hard the aliens do not miss from this close distance, they will destroy shield and also kill the soldier with one burst, and you have to smack them 3 to 4 times atleast with stunbaton before they go down. Just a heads op here, smoke has zero effekt on lizards, they have thermal vision/see by senth. Unless you play X-Division a mod/total conversion which I highly recommend. Be warned though some may find it too hardcore, but I would advise everyone to atleast give it a try. But I do like your idea, if only you could have throwable spears, then your phalanx unit would be complete .
  22. Well I like the sound of that. Here is hoping not getting slaughtered to quickly though, I doubt my machine is anxious to experience my fist yet again while accusing it of cheating.
  23. I did enjoy it, maybe except the commandroom trying to capture the officer and losing 2 men in the process, I had to smack him more than 10 times on 2 turns, hope he was worth it. The beginning just made me laugh at how insane the situation was, some might call it a lucky break with the grenades, but let us just call it good decision making shall we. I can not wait to experiance a baseattack.
  24. Wow and I thought that terrormissions are tense, well they were until I assaulted my first alien outpost. Summary: 5 killed, 2 corporals (meat)shields, 1 sgt, 1 major, 1 revival,1 detroyed defender, and rest all wounded with less than 30 HP left. 96 aliens killed, 1 captured wraith and 1 captured ceasan officer. My starting area had 2 doors on the same side so I could position pretty decent. On the first turn I opened both doors and saw one long corridor and one medium long corridor that turned left but no aliens so smoke and end turn, aliens turn 3 wraith teleport inside and I se 2 xeno coming in the medium corridor and 1 ceasan in the other. I dispose off the wraiths and gas the ceasan to death, on a personal note whoever did the soundeffect for the chemical grenade hit the nail right on the head I almost feel sorry for the aliens when using it because how unpleasant it sounds, I throw 4 incendiary into the other corridor turning all the floor into fire and end turn, I am not kidding I counted atleast 20 (I stopped counting after that) xeno deaths and a few ceasans in the following turns only the queen, the other big one (forget name), a few warriors and wraiths broke through which was managable with some losses. I did not leave the starting area until turn eleven I think, clearing the base went rather clean until storming the commandroom that cost me 2 guys. That mision took me nearly 3 hours, insane. Do someone know how to make the tone darker on the battlescape? I want to make them more dark in the nightmissions.
  25. Sure they do, just not very accuratly. The same thing can be said about going from a kneeling position to a standing one. You can not deny the fakt that is take more time to stand op, you can test and time it on yourself a 100 times the result will be the same. It can not be changed and that is that, and thinking about it again also makes me unsure how much it will change the gameplay anyway. But I definatly appriciate that you made it cost significantly more to kneel/stand than the original, as there were almost no reason not to kneel before. Great than I can stop whit this timeconsuming manouver(manøvre) in the future versions, thank you.
