  1. Idea is fog of war, you have just rushed into a new area to take out the enemies and have never seen the area before. There may end up an option to turn it off if requested or to make all maps visible. Ask and you may/will/might/could/should/wont/probably/possibly/ipso facto/maybeo receive.
  2. Chris, will the Poll go up tonight? I think it would be a big boon to push up US pledges during UK night night time. Also perhaps you could set a goal at 75k, 100k, 125k, 150k, 170k, 185k, 200k.... that would really get the juices flowing to hit the 200k+ target. You should have bought yourself relocation by that point and you would still have money for UI etc.
  3. Karthink - the game plays like X-com in that its a set tech progression route. The technology you play with would unlock in the same order, depending on your research choices. It is tier based in that regard. However, it is a highly modifiable game and already Chris has released Russian art and people are working on all sorts of mods. It would take about 10 minutes to tinker with stats, e.g give your fighters more missiles and less health, or just give them 1000 health and 8 missiles.
  4. Means they have what they need to implement the new UI and other features and create a more polished game. However, there are probably about another 20things that could be added based on how well it goes. I believe Chris was conservative with his launch, with the hope he might exceed expectations.
  5. With Gauddlike on vehicles. The game to me is about the progression of my men from rookies to Elite Mther Fckr Alien Killers! Vehicles are a support mechanism and I often played without them in xcom games because it meant I could level up 4 extra rookies who could take over from injured dudes. I dont want a situation where I would be a fool not to have a fully levelled vehicles, they already have quirks. Range of weapons, longer LOS, replace at a standard not weaker level, so they are a constant.

  8. Get a power core from a scout or corvette, provided its not blown up. Its a big lightbulb looking thing in the ship. Then Alenium now you know what its from. With alien alloys- Alien alloy fab. Also get the plasma pistol and rifle and research them. Unlocks laser research/wolf armour
  9. I think we are hitting a wall with what is currently there at $100+ and I think new chances to get in the game would provide a wall breaker or make people up their pledges. If we had an unlimited number of portraits it probably woulda hit 70K by now.
  10. The issue I foresee with that is location. Would Russian police look the same as Chinese or British. Game already has friendly NPC fighters.. but there AI is almost non-existent. I would like the team to focus on making them an effective fighting force 1st.
  11. UFO aftermath did stuff like that.... hated them because it was so easy to fail from a bug or mechanic
  12. Soldiers gain experience and can have improved armour. How would you do it with vehicles without ditching the vehicle when something better comes along. Transferring drivers etc would create an extra level of complexity to implement. My super tank 1 might have veteran status and better accuracy, but it will still have paper thin armour. My mega tank 1, would do more dmg and have better armour anyways, due to the progression model that means vehicles stay robust alongside troops. Also a better driver\gunner might react faster, but he cant physically make the tank do more damage. You would have to keep re-leveling vehicles with every upgrade, not like a xenonaut who you could take with you till the bitter end.

Range of non crash missions- which might involve a new tileset Military base duty Rescue the civilian could be good but they would need to have extra health or spawn somewhere safeish to start with-else it becomes a nightmare scenario. Rescue top secret intelligence coulld be better- though it would have to be clearly marked. -dislike levelling vehicles- as we have improved ones as the game progresses A military base mission could become a new crashed UFO tileset aswell perhaps. I think pilot portraits etc should come under the kickstarter tiers- to gain interest in the game- if you could guarantee 200 portraits -thats 40k-minus the cost of the artist. Pilots Medals should be included with soldier medal system.
  17. Postage of posters is expensive. You would be looking at 10K in postage because of the item shape/size. I think a better option would be a digital print, that could go in an A4 sized envelope. But that would still cost about £1 to post these days in the UK, due to size and weight.
  18. Meant to say they can pick 2 names, but they have to be different. So it could be Im a xenonaut and my bro is a pilot. My reasoning for bundling with lower band is that you want a larger pool of names to avoid repitition and it makes ir more interesting than going through the phonebook. I would love to have pilots brought into the game with images and if you got to pick name and callsign with the force player feature, you could really personalise the experience. ATM my pilots are meat for the grinder. If my brother was flying that interceptor I would be way more careful.
  19. I like the understated feel of the mug, though I would rather money was spent on development than shiny's. I prefer the game improvements- My ideas expand it so: $100 you get to name a soldier and a pilot - $150 you get to name a soldier and a pilot.. With pre-selected portraits and nationality. Pilot portrait will probably be selected from the kickstarter portraits. $200 1 Real pilot portrait or vehicle portrait - face in the game $250 as above with a personalized incident that occurs on the world map $350 as above with ability to design decals for aircraft $500 as above with a piece of signage developed by you.
  20. If Chris decides to add pilot portraits and works out the UI artist niggles/costs etc, we could end up with a new source of funding at $200. 100 sketches would be 20k extra.
  21. Demo gets your near to the end of the year 1977, enough time to try out all the tech so far and build a couple of bases.
  22. The balance of fighters to combat has not been balanced yet. Chris improved it slightly in the recent build, though I agree fighters should be escorts for the larger ships not independent wings. Heavy bombers however, should be flying around.
