  1. I remember when you could put codes in to use soldiers with the backers and dev team names and such. Does anyone remember how to do this?
  2. yeah, if you keep saving and loadint, the ones that are researching double, and you can fire them reducing your overhead as well.
  3. Here's an example.... I've gone to playing xcom apocalypse and early on with just the probes and scouts, the local forces aka the police hover cars engage them. One of three things happens, they shoot it down, keep it busy till my craft gets there and shoots it down, or they just get destroyed. something like this would be awsome.
  4. Yeah, I think it's linked to the funding bug, cause that resets too, and if you dont leave the game and load another while it's still loaded, the casulties cross over.
  5. i've over killed some like light scouts early on, could only use 1 sidewinder missle, then had to use the cannon or i'd have no crashsite. and dunno if this is a bug, but the fighters both regular and heavy both get destroyed even when i use just the cannon on them.
  6. or rather, have the more active forces and stuff, basicly have messages pop up and say that they have downed a UFO or siezed a crashed one, or even say they fought valiently and got shot down or or the ground "the Alien threat ahs over come the local forces, repaired thier ship and escaped back into space." just a thought, make it interesting :-)
  7. I've has a save lockup as well, just one when I go to load it just refuses to load.
  8. i think the laser sniper needs to be beefed up a lil, can single shot an alien with the ballistic, but not the laser. WTF?
  9. Xcom apocalyse had a base-side training, took forever for them to train, basicly, have them assigned to tain while not on missions after the initial training, it accually did help alot in xcom apoc.
  10. It kinda goes with as you gain rep with nations you can get more solders from them and so on..... Say you build a base in north america, not only do you get solders from there, but the interceptors and squad carrier are based on the american and canadian tech of the time, and say you build in europe or russia, you get the equivilant of what they have, same with weapons, so like say the US has the best transports, and the interceptors are slow but kick ass dogfighters, and like the mig is russian, or europe has a good mix interceptor of speed and durability, you can get this as your rep with the nations goes up, kinda like tiers as they like you more. same with the soldier equipment, would be cool. or maybe one of them has a slow transport that can carry wepons to defend itself.
  11. as of right now you can turn base structures using the scroll wheel on the mouse, heard you needed to use ctrl while doing it, scroll wheel works for me, and as for equipment on the soldiers, i'd like to see you beable to turn it as well.
  12. ok, thank you, was just suggesting that maybe a 3 round burst per ammo count/charge meanind each 3 shots is = to 1 ammo in the clip
  13. Well my game just crashed from a local forces seemd to have unlimited tus and ammo, when he finally hit the alien, the game crashed
  14. I don't know if this has been posed as a bug or suggestion. I have noticed some Laser Weapons balance issues..... Laser Pistol has burst, not a bad idea, just make it like a Laser Machine Pistol, lol there are Pistols out there in the world with Burst fire. Scatter Laser has a 4 round clip and only 3 round burst fire, you gotta carry tons of clips and its like the machine gun Big blalance issue there to me. at least give it like a 3 round burst per charge it takes up. and maybe you can make not a laser shotgun, but a laser that works like one with like a cone fire spraying lasers in several directions all at the same time rather than like a burst, lol
  15. ok, what i was meaning was basicly, train a guy as a sniper, so he is better with those types, train with an assualt rifle, so they are better with those, basicly set roles for them. there is a game that has a base accuracy and then there are how well they use the weapons too, i think its UFO:AI and it has like close, assault, heavy weapons, and explosives i think. if i missed any im sorry. but something like set roles :-)
  16. i dont think he ment for uber power troops, just basic starting stats for snipers, maybe a decent starting accuracy, more in the basics, like if you have a trained sniper using a machine gun or shot gun, they cant hit the broadside of a barn type of deal and are better with precise shots ya know.
  17. well, i equip all my guys with armor, tend to take a tank and 8 guys, 2 shotties, 2 gunners, 2 rifles, and 2 snipers. shotties i put on my low accuracy guys and back them up with the 2 riflemen. i send the gunners (normally 60+ strength so they can handle the gun with an extra clip with the snipers, so i have my a mix of close range and long range accuraccy, seems to work moving them in squads of 2 for me. just use the tank as a scout btw.
  18. I beg to differ, I did manage to have a landed ufo mission, sent an F17 after it, it landed, and i just kept the F17 on it till the Chinook got there and started the mission.
  19. I don't beleive this one has been posted, just noticed it. It seems as though if you exit the game and come back in to continue a saved game that you only get funding from after you load and nothing from before the load. i know i had quite a few ufo's shot down, and only got funding of 8k from one area. =\
  20. sometimes in XCOM you could let the crash sit a while and they repaird things so that when you got to it you had everything to take home too. was kind of a cool feature.
  21. So far, I've done a ground mission and here's the small list I have so far. 1. Had a soldier behind a fence, went to move up to the next barrier, hedge, wall.... whatever it was and he got stuck on the fence and wasnt able to move for the rest of that turn. 2. Attempted to shoot with the machinegun, acted like it jammed and just didnt fire as well as used the ap needed for the cost, same happened with the sniper rifle, and M16 on single shot. Got through the misson by using one solder with a shotgun being it was the only weapon working.
  22. Not sure if it's a bug or just a setting i got going on. I can save in geoscape no preblem, once i get into the battlemap, i cant get into my options menu to save, hit esc to get into the menu and nothing comes up.
