Yeah, that was an estimate for an old house up here in the north, the minimum you should expect to pay. I've seen houses go for three times as much. Safe to say, I live in a tiny flat. Woah, those SSD prices are insane. I think I paid around £130 for my 120gig. Do you have MVA on electronics?
  2. Regular! Ordinary! Swedish Meal Time! (In swenglish!) I had to, sorry.
  3. It could, but that's one more thing to cycle through. I'm comfortable with just pressing "B".
  4. Yup, this should be in the suggestions section though. Preferably in the thread already dedicated to exactly this issue.
  5. Oh, yeah. I'm definitely on with limb losses. Cybernetic soldiers a la Syndicate ftw! (Lose a limb in the first few months and you're still effed of course.)
  6. There is no difference between the Kickstarter Demo and the Alpha. It's the same build. The game is currently in an Alpha state, which means the core functions of the game is still in development. When these are done, the game will move into the Beta stage where lots of tweaks and content is done. After that's been going on a while the game will be released. What you have done is basically pre-order the game on it's release date, giving Goldhawk the money you would have spent then, now. So they can use it to make the game instead of buying beer. As a token of gratitude, they give us the chance to play this unfinished version and give them feedback and suggestions on it in the hopes that the game will be greater. As we're kind of like investors, we get to voice our opinion, though they are not bound to listen. I'm sorry if you knew all this, it just didn't seem like you knew what exactly was going on. Regarding promotions, what Max_Caine said. You should see promotions for guys around 15ish missions I guess. As long as you DO things with them. Someone just standing in the chopper will get no experience.

I'm working as myself, I'm a fire emergency responder. But I'm Norwegian. Shit is expensive over here, so we have decent wages as well. It's nice when you're abroad though. Comparisons: 500ml beer $10, $4-5 in the shop. AAA game $92. Domestic flight cross country $350. 1 month 5mb internet $58. 3,78l of gas (1US gallon) $9.4 Diesel jeans $134 Snus (25g smokeless tobacco) $14.5 New CD $27 3 bedroom 40year old house $335,000 Estimates. There's no law about minimum wage, but you'd pretty awesome if you got an adult to work for less than $48,000 annually. People with proper education and degrees, depending on their field, could get twice that. Your employer is bound by law to give you 11,5% of that, minimum, as vacation money when you take your holiday. 5 weeks per year. This is not taken out of your pay, but is an addition. Plus retirement funds, but I dunno the percentages on that. You can call in sick with pay three days three times every 12 months. If your doctor give you sick leave that is also with pay. First six weeks is on the employer, after that it's on the state. Or something. I'm not sick that often. So yeah, we can't complain really. But we do of course. (Taxes! Moaar pay! etc. etc.)
  8. Indeed. (We've also got national health care) When I sawed my pinky off, I didn't pay a penny, and got a month off work with pay. I feel really bad for people that get sick or hurt in places like the states. Now if only we could get dental into the national health plan as well!
  9. It wouldn't. But this is the internet. And when the creator of a kickstarter and game puts down a link for basically whatever, every fan/pledger who sees that is going to click it. I mean, I did. And I pledged $200! I just wanted to see all the faces! But it's a bit too recent imo. The game starts out in mid '79. At the time HJK-FSK was called HJSK (Hærens Jegerskole) It was changed to HJK in '81, and I think that's close enough so that's what I put down.
  10. Yeah, I think he said German and French were definites, with maybes on Italian and Spanish.. maybe? Something like that. I prefer my games in English tbh. I played Resistance 2 on my PS3 set to Norwegian just to hear it. (They had actually recorded Norwegian speech as well.) It was HORRIBLE!

I based it on these benchmarks, and the fact that the 3770K was only about $66 more. In perspective I make well over twice that a day. I've seen some videos, it's really good. A mate told me that the biggest upgrade he ever got his PC was a SSD. They don't live as long though, and in essence the less space you use on it, the longer it lasts. The number of times it can write data is finite. It probably is, I wasn't going for pure efficiency, as evident by the CPU, GPU, OS and Blu-ray. I went for something that would hold me over for a while. Plus it's $3000+ machine for $2640. I wanted 16GB RAM because it's so damn cheap, there's no point buying less! And for all those times we went "I'm not gonna need more than 512MB/1GB/2GB, it'll be amazing"
  12. Too bad Dropbox doesn't like acting like a server for 5000 people.

Hehe, you could probably solve that with water cooling on both. But that would be a hassle and require a huge case, or an external system. I read a review that made my mind up about this, it runs about 20 degrees cooler at full load than the stock one, and more silent as well.
  14. Which makes kinda sense. If 12 guys with machine guns rush at me firing wildly, I'd probably get down. As long as Burst and Single fires can have separate values it's pretty good. I can see the binary system being good for gameplay and transparency, but a more complicated system wouldn't hurt. I'm just glad we're getting it

I'll be having only noodles for a month already! And it's huge! I don't know if I could SLI it even if I wanted to
  16. So far Goldhawk has been quite intent on keeping the theme, and since your soldier can spawn on anyone's game I think it's safe to assume you have to be fairly realistic. I put down the name the unit changed into in '81 and hope they don't notice. It's just so much better than the old one.

I believe you. For current stuff, you only need this kind of thing for higher resolutions really. But I couldn't justify buying a laptop for the same price as this, but with a lot less performance. Even if that performance is hard to notice atm.
  18. Countered by the pistol's abysmal suppression score.
  19. Will you be able to give weapons different suppression scores for burst and single shots? Might be in for a tough bit of balancing. However it's not too hard to justify a single shot, being more accurate, having more suppression than bursts.
  20. Agree with the curved flight paths. Actually this would be a requirement for them to be able to fly around the world along the meridians on a flat map. It would seem really weird though.
  21. Would this mean that the amount of projectiles does not matter? If a weapon only fires burst, and a lot of shots, this will result in a higher suppression score than a weapon capable of firing single and burst? This is close to what I've been advocating so of course I think it's a good basis. Seems very deadly, so that's interesting!
  22. You could, but that would mean shooting and missing isn't providing suppression. Which I would find odd. If every bullet has a suppression value, you're always shooting to hit the target. If you hit, great! If you don't at least he's a bit more suppressed now, if you weren't way off.
  23. The image you posted is brokededed TrashMan. I don't mean to give you a scalding or anything, but oh, the igneous irony!
