  1. I would suggest adding some kind of rebreather that protects against chem damage but takes up a hand. The gas can't really be avoided, so it shouldn't kill, but it would definitely hurt the player in terms of movement.
  2. Adrianova was the one of the key characters in the Xenonauts ebook. She was the only survivor of the first alien UFO attack. In the e-book, it is mentioned that she has a key role in finding, recruiting, and training new soldiers for the Xe project. Unfortunately, there is no nod to her existence within the game. There is no mention in the Xenopedia entries about how Adrianova would have difficulty training the soldiers to use recoilfree lasers. There is no picture of Adrianova wheeling around in her wheelchair in the background of any of the views. i would seriously love you guys if you added a wheelchair in the background of the soldier management view. I understand that the e-book was written when the game was essentially done. However, it would be a nice touch to give a nod to the e-book and mention Adrianova somewhere. Thanks.

  5. That doesn't quite sound right. It takes so much energy to create material that doing so would be an amazing shield technology. It's going to be inherently difficult to explain so many tiers. For instance "Ion weapons." Plasma is made out of ions. Is the gun firing so many electrons it ionizes the target and locks it down? There aren't stats on the weapon yet, so it's hard to guess what it does.
  6. I'm going to explain them as "electrons go so fast they seem to slam into protons and create neutrons." It sounds flaky but it's the best I can do.
  7. I'm rather puzzled at the Neutron weapons. The word "Neutron" doesn't seem to be related to any of the tech mentioned in this mod. It's not related to gravitons, electron control, magnets, plasma, blood, or alenium. Can you give me a clue what they are supposed to be?
  8. Thanks. (Do they honestly never panic? I've seen Sebellians camp on the ground and do absolutely nothing after being shot at, and I've assumed they were panicking. Why do the aliens have differing bravery scores?)
  9. Can I make a suggestion? The "Extreme Flashbang" currently mentions "USing new extreme alien light, we will stun them." Alien lightning is not a prerequisite-alien genetics is. I'm describing the weapon as scrambling the alien psionic organ. Now, what struck me as interesting was if the extreme flashbang actually hurt the bravery of aliens (a modable feature addable with CE). Is that something you are cool with?
  10. I have something other than a fighter craft in mind entirely. You know when you transfer materials and men they magically appear on the other side of the world? I want a "transport craft" to appear, carry resources over, and disappear once the supplies have been carried. Is that practical?
  11. I've never actually seen a reaper disappear, but that would explain would reapers are occasionally unaccounted for at the ends of missions. This is probably a longstanding bug that was difficult to notice.
  12. Chris, for your next game, are see going to see a more complex strategic level? It would be nice to have actual factories and command centers to defend rather than an abstract resource level or damage level. Something like having areas of high industrial capacity and high civilian density would be cool. I have no idea what your game is about but we expect it to be amazing. I'll be tuning in a few years from now!
  13. Try suppressing the aliens within the UFO. If an enemy is suppressed, they can't reaction fire. Reaction fire is basically Xenonaut's overwatch, and can trigger on almost everything you do. You can suppress an enemy by shooting a lot at him, especially with the machine gun, or using a flashbang grenade. A suppressed enemy also has less TUs, and probably won't be able to burst out of the ship and kill you. You can open and close doors by right clicking on them, which will save lives. You can also fire over crouched adjacent soldiers. So, you can have a machine gunner crouch behind a shield. The shield crouches and opens the door, the machine gunner fires, and the shield closes the door afterward. Don't forget to crouch your soldiers and make sure they are actually beside each other and not two tiles away.
  14. Did the alien stun grenade, alien nade, and advanced alien nade. I'm a lot busier than I thought I'd be, so but I'll upload a xenopedia copy with a few more entries tomorrow ish. I don't really have time to test it, just to write a couple entries during breaks.
  15. I can't open the xenopedia .xml. I have microsoft excel 2010-is there any way to convert an excel 94 file, which is what your xenopedia is in, to a 2010 file, which I need? EDIT: It's not the 1994 file. The weaponstats are fine for me, but I just can't open some of the xml files. Opening it with text editors brings up the code for excel cells, which is hard to read. Will wait until I figure out how to fix the issue.
  16. Thanks. Message/post the stats and appearance of the items as well as whatever you were thinking when you thought up.programmed the items. I've got some stuff to do but I'll work on this stuff any time I have a break. EDIT: I'll look through the weapons files on the mod itself.
  17. Can I help? I don't have much experience but I can help make textures and write Xenopedia entries.
  18. I would absolutely love to see that in game, but I don't have any coding experience to do it myself. I don't even know if the game engine would allow it at all. If it could be done, it would be done by hijacking the Xenonauts base code. Modified xenonaut bases would be built with restrictions on buildings allowed. I do know that a lot of the code about the base setup is hardcoded and can't really be changed, but perhaps the defense battery range is moddable.
  19. You can smash open windows and throw grenades through them. "m" is a melee attack available for anybody. It only does 10 damage, but that's enough to break open a window. You can also vault through open windows.
  20. Those don't change the geoscape fundamentally. A really radical change would be adding supply chains and defense batteries that could be placed anywhere. He's probably looking for changes like that.
  21. I think we should have an entry in the Xenopedia by intelligence or the scientist about how countries are retooling their factories to produce laser weapons. This would explain why manufacturing for profit isn't kosher (to satisfy the fans of the old xcom) and explain how local forces receive laser guns.It would also be fairly straightforward to implement. I'll write up an example text in the morning to demostrate what I mean.

  23. I thought that the obvious shorting would be "Xe." That's a merc corporation (Private Military Corporation as they are supposed to be called) IRL, so it makes perfect sense.
