Gusdavidson Posted March 12, 2014 Share Posted March 12, 2014 I've been playing V21 EXP 5 for about a week and during that time I've only found two alien bases, one small and one medium size, but after each one I never got the Xenopedia entry for the alien base itself which leads to the base upgrade research project. Getting the base upgrade worked fine in V21 EXP 4 and I didn't see any mention of the base upgrade in the V21 EXP 5 thread. So I'm wonder if the build itself is bugged, do I need to find a large alien base, or is my game save bugged. Something else I should mention is that I changed a few of the game settings in the config.xml and weapons_gc.xml files but that was only to change to the weapon time units back to fixed values. Either way as far as I could tell neither file had anything to do with alien bases or research projects so that shouldn't of made any difference. kabill Posted March 12, 2014 Share Posted March 12, 2014 In my v21.5 game I got the base upgrade tech having only completed one (small) alien base. So it should still be there. Is it possible you're missing another pre-requisite (I don't know whether it has any, but thought it was worth checking). Also, is it possible to explode/destroy a prop which gives you the tech needed for the research? Probably not, but thought it worth suggesting. Gusdavidson Posted March 14, 2014 Author Share Posted March 14, 2014 I pretty sure I'm leaving the command room undamaged and I'm not damaging the "holo-globe" thing. The only thing I wasn't doing was capturing the base's leader so to speak. Although this doesn't really matter anymore because my game crashes every time I launch it. I checked the configs files in the assets folder and nothing had been changed in the last several days. I guess it's time to start playthrough number 4 on V21 EXP V6, this is still a beta after all although I forgot that sometimes. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
