After assigning soldier/vehicle to a specific drop ship and then click the Esc. button the game crash right away. Hopefully this is not reported before. BTW: for future bugreports please include if you are using the stable or experimental version on steam (and version number), please and thank you. I play on Windows 7 64 bit, don't know if it helps. And how should I check the version number in Steam? The reason you should be including the version number even if Steam updates automatically is that it makes it easier to track if it is a old bug or a new bug in later versions. It's just helpful for Matthew to have the version number mentioned somewhere. Also Steam has 2 versions. the stable version or the experimental version that you need to opt in on to use.
